I was actually wondering this myself yesterday, not that my husband will be getting an approval letter anytime soon...he only applied about 2 months ago! But if you need to send back your IRP card with the fee etc., what if you have an upcoming trip booked? Would immigration accept your approval le...
Glad I just paid a lot of money to postpone planned travel by a day so I could attend this...oh well. Don't have to haul my a$$ down to Killarney for a day at least.

If a current Stamp 2 holder is a recent graduate and has submitted their application for the Stamp 1G are they permitted to continue working 20 hours a week while they await the Stamp 1G to process? The recent update on the INIS website states: "By notice of 18 September, all permissions that are du...

Yes, I included all that in my initial application. I had made up all days absent since moving to Ireland and did not violate the 6 week rule at the time of application. When I received the letter asking for the days absent again, I had been out of the country for a few days since submitting my appl...
The letter requesting the documents would specify the exact period. I think you should stick to that timeframe and submit what they want. Supplying anything else may lead to more documents or explanations being requested
It doesn't specify a period. It just says "dates of absence".
I submitted my naturalisation application in June of this year which included a full Excel form listing all the days I have been absent from the state since arriving in Ireland and the purpose of those absences. I did not break the 6 week "rule". This month I received a letter asking for a list of a...
A December ceremony but they'll also give 4 weeks notice? They better hurry the hell up with the invites because we're already one month out from mid-December and I doubt they have a ceremony the week of Christmas or between Christmas and NYE.
I really hope Mr.Jones and his solicitor just leaves this issue be at this point. He needs to be patient like all of us have been (while he brought the system to a screeching halt) and try not to go on so many holidays in one year. I'm sure his employer will appreciate it.

I remember that in the year leading up to my application, I was particular about not travelling abroad That's all well and good, but for many of us being 'particular' about traveling abroad would involve us needing to quit our jobs or go on career leave for that year. I still argue that less than 1...
It can't be more than 10-15%. Thinking just from my own coworkers and family/friends the only person I know who hasn't traveled outside of Ireland, even to the UK, in the past 12 months is my husband's 95 year old granny. Most people who hold employment also have 20 or more days holidays a year. Mos...
Does the new ruling specify which basis the application is on or is it covering all applications? It covers all applications made based on residency, whether that's via marriage or 5 years on a work permit, etc. I would say, as the ruling currently stands, 99% of applications for naturalisation bas...
At the end of the judgement he states "the cure for any (if any) such unfairness as is resulting is not to be found in the law-courts; it lies in the gift of the legislature." So essentially he is leaving it up to Oireachtas to determine whether there needs to be a change to the wording of the Irish...
I'm not familiar with the current process of applying for a Stamp 4. When I originally applied in 2016 I entered the country as a non-visa required national on a 90 day stamp and attended my INIS appointment during that time. I didn't need to send anything into the post ahead of time. I'm guessing t...
They definitely chose one of the most extreme cases too. Out of the country for 97 days on holiday...not even work. That's bordering on not even being subject to taxation in Ireland based on residency. It makes all of our applications look frivolous like we are all jet setting around the world for h...
