Re: Options available for very ill parent?

Secret.simon, thanks again for the clarity. I appreciate your input! The flag on your profile suggests that you hail from Australia. Surely they do speak English there. Even otherwise, children are generally quite adaptable and tend to learn languages better and faster than adults. If it were Austra...

Re: Options available for very ill parent?

CR001 and secret.simon, thanks for the low down. This is pretty much as I expected. We are also conscious of absence from the UK and our ILR. Hopefully it wont come down to that. physicskate, I don't need a lecture on how the NHS works or it's financial state. This is an immigration forum. Treatment...

Options available for very ill parent?

My wife, myself and our 2 young children have just become permanent residents of the UK. At the same time we have also just received news that my wife's mother has been diagnosed with terminal, late stage cancer. Can anyone offer advice on whether their is an immigration option (and fast) for her in...

Re: Child citizenship and travel

We are registering the children right now, from the UK via the online application. We've seen from these boards that this process can be quite quick. The situation is tricky as the urgent need for travel is due to a close member of family being diagnosed with late stage terminal illness. In a perfec...

Re: ILR super priority 2 weeks late, URGENT need to travel

Thanks CR001. I asked a follow up question in the Citizenship forum (https://www.immigrationboards.com/british-citizenship/child-citizenship-and-travel-t275047.html#p1745431), but no harm asking again here. If the kids now apply for citizenship, can they travel while they wait for the process to com...

Re: Child citizenship and travel

Thanks for the suggestions. I know that we've already extended our Tier 2 Visas the maximum times. Not sure how that affects the kids ones. Any idea? Our first child is on her 2nd visa already, second child only on her first. I'm wondering now, since the kids are Australian citizens, they can techni...

Child citizenship and travel

Dear all, We have just been granted ILR and now need to process our childrens residency. As they were both born in the UK and are both under 5, they are entitled to British citizenship. We will apply for their citizenship, however we now have an urgent travel requirement. Facts: They're both now ent...

Re: ILR super priority 2 weeks late, URGENT need to travel

Update on the case Today we were notified by the lawyers that the ILR application had been approved. Now we just need to wait for the official confirmation and new BPR. Not sure if anything helped the situtation, but we did contact our MP who in turn contacted the Home Office to escalate the case. W...

Re: ILR super priority 2 weeks late, URGENT need to travel

Unfortunately I could find no information about the dependant visas. The information I found from official guidance was that dependants apply after the main sponsor has been granted ILR.

Re: ILR super priority 2 weeks late, URGENT need to travel

1. They used the old sponsorship code on the application (apparently it changed before my wife applied). 2. They didn't enter previous countries of residence, their mistake. They understood it as only is the past 5 years, but now they realise that it means our whole lives. We're Australian, so of co...

Re: ILR super priority 2 weeks late, URGENT need to travel

The lawyer has had less contact with the HO than we have. They are speculating that the process in being delayed because the dependants on the original Tier 2 visa did not apply for ILR at the same time and urging us to get all of us to apply for ILR to get over this. In my opinion, this is pure spe...

ILR super priority 2 weeks late, URGENT need to travel

Dear all, We are in a very difficult situation and would appreciate any help on this matter. My wife and I are applying for ILR now. We are eligible and our immigration layers say we have a strong case. We applied for 24 hour super priority service and submitted our application over 2 weeks ago. We ...

Child citizenship when visa lapses

Hello and thanks in advanced for providing a great resource here! My wife and I are in the process of applying for ILR currently and are due to (hopefully) get a decision soon. It was the 24 hour express service, but we can see there are issues with that at the moment. We have 2 children here, both ...
