So I now have my passport :D Thank you to everyone who gave advice on this forum it really did help. Did anyone else get advised to complete the citizen's registration? I have had a look and from what I can gather it is more for if you are travelling somewhere. To everyone still waiting, I hope you ...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Sent my passport form off today via Passport Express in Glasgow. Does anyone know how long it takes to start tracking online? Currently seeing this message when I try to track it: "The application number entered does not exist in our database. Please enter your passport application number again." I...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Congratulations everyone - good to see people are getting certificates. Passport application is now showing on the tracker with an estimated date of the beginning of December. So by the time I actually get it in hand if it really takes that long it will be about 9 weeks for the passport - ah well. L...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Thanks Luke125SWalker, that is reassuring. Hopefully once it shows on the tracker it will be a quick process. I will keep checking it and give it until the end of next week.

Roibeard - Hei, I notice you are in Finland too. I hope that you get to the bottom of it and get your certificate soon.

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Great to see people are getting their certificates - congrats to all. Well it is now a week and one day since I took my passport application to the embassy and it is still not showing on the tracker. Has anyone else had it take some time to show on the system? I am thinking perhaps give it until Tue...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Passport still isn't showing on the tracker. Main website says that the initial application is done by the embassy and they send to them to process once they have done their bit and then it will show. Still as it is almost a week I would have thought it would be showing by now so I guess it might be...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

I got my estimated passport issue date from the tracker and it's saying, 28/11/19. Can anyone who has received their passport let me know how long it took them to get it in hand after the date of issue? I know you're not meant to book your flight until you have it, but I was kind of hoping to book ...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Kmosfet - I just put in a couple of letters that had been sent, just needed one proof of name and one proof of address. Glad you got the passport card Michael, what exactly is it for? perhaps I am not clicking on the right links but I am not really sure. Jacqui - I got my form done at the notary so ...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Passport application taken to the embassy today, so they have my FBR back again. Said everything is fine and it will be about 6 weeks - very vague, I had to ask how long it would be and will the tracker let me know when it is ready to collect. I will be glad when this is all completed. Got home to a...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Quick question about passport application - I know, I know, I still haven't got around to applying for it! Just been filling in the form and it says to put mother's maiden name as it is on the birth certificate. I don't need to send that certificate too do I? (I hope not cause I would have to send o...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Been reading these forums for ages but after waiting almost a year my address confirmation email arrived today. YES!! I have moved house in the interim but still have the Royal Mail redirect in place so I get all my old address mail anyway until 24th October. If I advise of change of address will I...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Does anyone have a phone number or email address that they know to be patrolled please, so that I might enquire as to progress? Thanks! Re: Foreign Birth Registration

For some reason can't edit post.

Just noticed that although a pharmacist is listed on the website as a witness for the application outside of Ireland, they are not listed on the actual form so does that then mean that they can't be used as a witness?

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

On the passport guide it asks for another 4 photos to be taken, certified by proper person..ect. Basically a lot of the steps I already did for the Foreign Birth registration. Is it necessary to redo everything or does the FBR supersede these requirements? Passport photos are supposed to have been ...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Thanks Lee, perhaps the photo's will be okay, reluctant to get them redone cause they are so expensive over here (25 euros!!) Hope you get yours through soon - same for everyone still waiting. Other thing I have noticed and this is a question for people who have applied for the passport, I have noti...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

I still need to apply for my passport, I am struggling to find someone on the list of occupations who can sign this for me so I think it is going to have to be a notary public again but not had the chance to get there yet and not sure when I can get there. Would like to get this done sooner rather t...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

So I now have my certificate in my hands :) A little over 6 months from application to certificate in hand. Has my old address on it but I am sure that doesn't matter as people will move around. Had to ask for a passport application form, so just now need to fill that in and find a suitable witness ...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Update from me. I called the dfa today, perhaps not the best day to call cause the queue was double digits but it still actually moved quite fast. I was added to the FBR on 22 July so officially an Irish Citizen :-) Certificate has been printed and is at the Embassy so I have arranged to go to the c...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

When I called last week I was told my application has been approved and they are just waiting for the certificate to be printed but I never received an email to say that I have been added. Is this something that sometimes people just don't get?

I have never received any emails from them
