On the application form it says that payslips are evidence of exercising treaty rights. And I think they also said to include any old passports. I just figured it would be a good idea to make sure they'd seen that I had the EEA2. As for citizenship, it would make getting into this country a bit ...

EEA4 Success

Just received my EEA4 permit today! For those interested in my situation. I was here on a 5 year EEA2 permit as I am an American married to an Italian. I applied on August 28 for the EEA4. Received my COA about a month or six weeks later. Today, January 15 I received my EEA4 permit, dated January 2 ...

EEA4, 1 month and still no COA

Hello, I applied for my EEA4 visa over a month ago and still have not received any confirmation from the HO that my application has been registered. I have tried to call them and nobody answers the phone. Currently I am here on an EEA2 visa that expires next month. Does anyone know how long EEA4 ...

EEA family visa question

I am a US citizen married to an Italian and I am currently living in London on an EEA five year visa. The visa has a few years left in it but my passport expires in about six months. Do I really have to apply for a new family visa all over again? Is there any way around it? Any advice would be most ...

I got my EEA2 today!!!!

Finally! Thought people might like to know the specifics. I applied for it on July 30th. I used my wife's Italian national ID card and not her passport, though I included a copy of it. Her payslips had my last name on them instead of the name on her passport (I was very worried about this). Also, my ...

Haha, I'm sure I am getting really anxious, it's just that a lot depends on getting this visa. I need to travel for work and am simply not comfortable travelling until it is resolved. We also need to travel in a month for Christmas. Plus we're trying to buy a house and I imagine this will be ...

I would not DARE travel. My last experience travelling during the process was too traumatic and they almost didn't let me in. I have asked the HO repeated for a letter allowing me to travel and they never respond.

Also, what happens if it is rejected? Do I appeal?

EEA2, what if it is refused?

If my EEA2 visa is refused what options will I have? It should be fine, but I really need this visa (my job requires frequent travel, which I haven't been able to do) and have been waiting more than four months. So what happens if it is refused? I'm already here on a 6-month EEA family permit. Also ...

Question on Home Office site

I applied for my EEA2 five-year permit at the end of July. At the bottom of the Home Office site: http://www.ind.homeoffice.gov.uk/applying/eeaeunationals it has a time frame of what applications they are working on, but I'm not sure which mine is. Is mine the "Residence Card Application" or is it a ...

I have my passport and did leave the country during the application and was very nearly not let into the country. I know I technically have the right to come back in, but I just don't want to take the chance. They were such assholes at the border and have gotten worse every single time. I have sent ...

Very nervous re EEA2 application

Hello, I am currently living here on a 6 month EEA family permit and am expecting a decision soon on my EEA2 5-year residence card application (I applied in July). My question is, how often do they reject people for the 5 year permit? I mean, if you have already been granted the 6-month visa, isn't ...

Travel from Ireland to UK

I am in the UK on a 6 month EEA family permit. This permit has since expired but my application for the 5 year permit is pending and I applied before my 6-month permit expired. I have had trouble getting back into the UK from abroad, but I have heard that when travelling to the UK from Ireland there ...

Marriage Certificate Translation

I am a US citizen living in the UK with my Italian wife. I entered the UK on a 6 month EEA family permit. I have applied for the 5 year extension, but am afraid I will be rejected because I did not get an official translation of the marriage certificate. The marriage certificate I gave them is the ...

A warning to people travelling during application process

I am a US citizen living in the UK with my italian wife. I applied for my 5 year EEA2 permit in July and the two of us went on holiday abroad a few weeks ago. Before leaving I had a certificate of application and was told over the phone by 2 home office officials and a lawyer that this letter would ...

Okay, I hope you are right. The marriage certificate has her family name on it, and her job contract and payslips have mine on it. Hope that is okay!

EEA2 question

I am an American citizen living in the UK with my Italian wife. I have sent in my EEA2 application but am now worried about something. On my wife's job contract and payslips she has taken my last name, but on all of her official documents, ie passport, she has retained her family name. She has not ...

EEA2 question

I am an American citizen living with my Italian wife in the UK. I have sent in my EEA2 application. One thing I am a bit worried about is that in her job she has taken my last name, but on all her official documents she still has her family name. This means that her passport has her family name on ...

Sounds like it should be okay, though I'm sure they'll be total assholes about it at the border. Both of my passports are still valid. My 6 month EEA family permit expires on August 16th and we are travelling on September 1st and get back on the 16th. I sent in my application on July 30th. I just ...

Travel during application process

I am an American citizen married to an Italian citizen. We are living in the UK, and I am here on the six month EEA family visa. We will be travelling in about a month and I applied for the EEA2 permit about a week ago. I know this takes a long time to process, but I am in possession of a second ...
