Re: Fbr Ireland

I can't see how you would be approved without proof of Irish lineage which is what that birth certificate shows. Is the difficulty with replacing your mother's birth certificate that she doesn't know where in Belgium she was born? A quick search on google mentioned needing to show up in person with ...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Hi all, I stumbled upon this thread while searching for information regarding foreign birth registration. Due to COVID it appears that the FBR team isn't answering any questions so I was hoping to make sure I have everything correct before submitting the FBR application for my son. Some quick backg...

Re: Triple Descent Ireland

Hi, I have just joined and wonder if anyone can help. My parents are sadly now deceased and I wished I had asked more about my family tree. My mum passed away a couple of months ago and i started to look into her history as I was shocked after her death to find she was adopted and it broke my heart...

Re: Grandparent born in Ireland, parent not registered and now lacks capacity

And actually, I'm still worried because this page says: Other documents that may be needed: If your parent became an Irish citizen through: The Foreign Births Register Document Needed: Original Foreign Birth Registration Certificate Which seems to imply that he needed to be registered and I need to...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

My situation is similar to Dana Maria. I received an e-mail on December 22, 2020 that my certificate was being printed and mailed. No tracking number was provided and I have not received the cert or my documents and am starting to get concerned as to whether they are lost in transit. Does anyone ha...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

What normally happens if your address has changed since you initially applied. When you receive the address confirmation email, and you provide a new address do they ask you to send proof? Is there anything you can do to change your address now or better waiting on the email? I contacted the FBR se...

You have already posted about this twice. Perhaps take the suggestions to review the posts in the large FBR thread for similar stories and their outcomes, or post to that thread directly. Repeated posts are against forum rules and can get you removed.

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Re: Irish Citizenship by Descent Question

Hi, My father is eligible for Irish citizenship by descent because of his paternal Irish grandmother. He has not yet registered on the Foreign Birth Registry. I believe that because my father did not register before my birth, I am not eligible for citizenship myself. However, I did have a few quest...

Re: Marriage Cert needed for Father/Grandfather?

Yes you need their marriage certificates as well, they want full lineage. You don't need to send your own marriage certificate unless you've had a name change yourself.

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Has anyone had any luck with writing to the DFA? If so, what address did you use? The address given in the DFA's email is different to the one that you send your FBR application to. I'm getting absolutely nowhere with my parents' marriage certificate. Nobody from the DFA is replying to my emails an...

Re: Can Irish citizen sponsor non-EEA step-child

Short answer - no. A bit longer answer - yes if you officially adopt the child. Longer explanation - the Family Reunification Policy provides reunification for the immediate family for eligible sponsors. You are an eligible sponsor for your nuclear family, i.e. your wife, but not her child as you h...

Anyone has any idea as to what are the processing times for Irish born children's passport?
Passport issuing is currently on hold due to Level 5.

I see, thanks. Does anyone here have experience of applying through having a parent who has citizenship but after your birth? I'm just wondering if it is a strong enough connection to warrant a waive. Just a thought....were you born after 1986 then? If so you're out of luck but if you were born bef...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Hello all. Well, I appear to be up s*** creek with my FBR application. Applied August 2019. Didn't hear anything until two days ago, when I got an email rejecting my parents' marriage certificate. Apparently it has to be a civil certificate, not a church one - I didn't even know there was a differe...
