Re: Foreign Birth Registration

My Irish passport arrived today, putting my journey at an end (of sorts)!

So, my date of application was 27th Sept 2018, I received my FBR certificate on the 15th of October, 2019 and today is 6th November, 2019. Feels good man!

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Update!

Logged into the passport tracker on the 31st, it said my passport was being printed. Logged in early this morning, it's been dispatched! I only sent my application on October 15th so that is lighting fast processing time and well before their estimate of November 28th.

Very impressive!

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

The date of issue in my case was one week later than that specified in the tracker. From issuance I waited about another two weeks on physical receipt, but that was to China. Others like Michael got theirs far quicker through the US postal service. Thanks for your reply and Luke125SWalker's. I book...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

How long did it take from taking the application to the embassy to it showing it showing on the tracker? Mine isn't showing yet I posted my application by express post to the Irish embassy in Canberra, Australia on the 15th of October and it was showing in the tracker by the 17th. It was possibly t...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

I got my estimated passport issue date from the tracker and it's saying, 28/11/19. Can anyone who has received their passport let me know how long it took them to get it in hand after the date of issue? I know you're not meant to book your flight until you have it, but I was kind of hoping to book m...

That's fantastic news. I am so happy for you. I hope that your status in France is more certain now that you have this in hand and the passport on the way.
Thank you! I can't believe you even remembered my situation. It's very flattering.

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Further to the post that Pumps100 (Ian) made above, can you please clear up your exact application date. Until now I have just been working with the content provided in your earliest post. As such, you are listed as a September 2018 applicant. However, there is another post mentioned by Ian that sa...

Logically they shouldn't be requesting an original current passport for security purposes and also you may need said document for travelling in the meantime while waiting for the Irish one to be processed and sent.
Exactly! Which is why I won't be sending mine.

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

I applied in August 2018 but didn’t get a confirmation of reciept email until January 2019 even though my postage tracker said it had been successfully signed for there. So I guess you get one once they’ve started to process your application, not when it’s delivered to the embassy. I got my email u...
