ILR Cash savings

1. Does anyone know if Premium Bonds are acceptable as part of cash savings? (As an Investment Account?) 2. Am I correct in understanding that investment accounts which produce only annual statements (prior to the preceding 6 months) are not acceptable? These are the requirements that must be met: t...

ILR spouse + child/dependent over 18

Application for my wife and stepson’s ILR is approaching but is not quite straight forward. Her son (now aged 19) arrived in the UK in May 2019 following a successful refused visa appeal (a process which took four years in total). He was added to his mothers FLR. He has completed A levels and contin...

Re: Passport stuck at DVLA

My stepson applied for his provisional licence in May and had to send his BRP card. It arrived back this week followed by his licence a few days later. Almost 2 months.

Re: ILR Cash savings query

Thank you Vinny. I think previously there was a "may" be able to add son to wife's application so we were exploring both options.

Given that we can add son, that would mean having £56,000 in savings? (£72,000 - £16,000)

ILR Cash savings query

Upcoming ILR Spouse and one dependent son (now18 which complicates matters). Calculating on using cash savings only. As this will require two separate applications will each application require proof of £46,500 in savings held for 6 months total £93,000, or can the same £46,500 be used for both? Or ...

Re: Complicated ILR, son over 18

As a side note, keep in mind that the child will not be eligible for naturalisation/British citizenship till May 2024 (five years after arriving in the UK) and will have to meet all the requirements for naturalisation in their own right (there is no dependency route to British citizenship). Regardl...

Re: Complicated ILR, son over 18

Thankyou Vinny,

It was the son's short residence that was causing me concern. Hopefully we are beginning to see the light at the end of a 5 year very expensive nightmare .......but I'm not holding my breath

Complicated ILR, son over 18

Wife joined British husband in the UK Sept 2016 on a standard Settlement (family life?) visa. Son should have followed later but was refused visa (apparently he could have lived with his aged and infirm grandparents  ). Decision overturned at appeal but long delay meant son arrived May 2019 a...

Calculating Adequate Maintenance ILR

Looking for current rates to calculate maintenance for ILR I see that Income Support is now replaced by Universal credit. Using figures found here https://www.gov.uk/universal-credit/what-youll-get the result seems to be almost the same, so they should be used? I believe I saw that a child was defin...

Re: FLR M, DOCUMENTS UPLOAD...

When you go to upload you will see different sections for each category (there is a guide but typically rather vague). You should have downloaded a check list at the time of application which helps a little. If you re-name files as I suggest they will sort into alphabetic and date order on your pc....

I'm really not sure. I'd expect it to be easier if they're wanting less proof of relationship. tania- i cant comment on self upload as i opted to go into the visa centre in person. the self upload isnt up to scratch as far as im aware, lot of issues with file sizes and error when uploading. This is...

Unable to book an appointment for FLR-M extension visa on this website(https://www.ukvcas.co.uk/). Doesn't accepts online payments. Tried calling the contact number mentioned also gives a "server error. Try again later" message when rung. My visa is expiring soon and i need to book an appointment s...

Apologies for being pedantic but It seems we are not the only ones confused by this situation. Son was included with his mothers' application for FLR(M) aged 16 Can I refer you to a previous post of a similar situation? Re: ILR for dependent child over 18

Now even more confused. Taken from https://www.gov.uk/uk-family-visa/child If you’re over 18 Your parent can include you in their application as a dependent, or you can apply separately yourself. You can only apply if you: got permission to stay in the UK (‘leave to remain’) on a family visa when yo...

ILR for dependent child over 18

Child 16 applied (successfully) for FLR with his mother. I believe he can also apply for ILR with his mother when he will be over 18 rather than independently as an adult. For the FLR he was exempt from A2 language test due to age. Will he need BI language test for ILR?

Re: English tests clarification

Thank you CR001. I'm sure many who understood that the tests expire after two years and have unnecessarily taken and paid for all three tests will be very unhappy to know this. You can use a B1 level qualification that’s run out if both of the following are true: it’s on the current list of recognis...

English tests clarification

At the beginning of the spouse visa process we were given the information that English tests A1, A2 and B1 were valid for only two years each. This would mean a total cost of £450 for all three tests. I am now given to understand that the B1 test could be taken at the outset and used for FLR and ILR...

Re: Use husband's surname for the spouse visa application

My wife is Chinese where similarly the wife keeps her family name. We married in China so our "marriage books" show her family name. She can have my name added to her passport but says she will wait until her passport needs renewing. We used her Chinese family name for initial spouse visa and FLR(M)...

Re: FLR(M) supporting documents

We had similar issues, my children are over 30!! I would consider it an imposition to start requesting personal details from them and it could be possible that some children are no longer in contact. Re: How long does it take the get a hearing ?

I missed that last part of your post regarding evidence. The Tribunal is just like a court. You have the judge, council for the prosecution (immigration guy) council for the defence (your guy) and the defendant (you). It is advisable to engage a lawyer which will probably cost £1000+. The evidence w...

Re: How long does it take the get a hearing ?

We had an appeal last year. The refusal was dated Sept 2017. We lodged an appeal immediately and given a date in July 2018. However, when we attended we were informed that we were on standby. This means we were not actually given an appointment but would be heard if there was a cancellation or early...
