Re: Affidavits for approved applications and next ceremony

Anyone else get an email invitation to the virtual ceremony? I tried to RSVP using the "Yes" link provided but it just opens up another page that has a server error.

Re: Affidavits for approved applications and next ceremony

Got my certificate this morning! Yay! Only negative is unfortunately they didn't put "do not bend" on the envelope so unfortunately the postman bent it slightly into the letterbox, so my certificate has a big crease down it :( Not the end of the world obviously, but a little bit annoying. Just so pl...

Re: Affidavits for approved applications and next ceremony

I was approved in Feb 2020. Got my email this morning with the affidavit. Wording of email - "I refer to your application for a Certificate of Naturalisation. The Minister proposes to grant your application for naturalisation, subject to the completion and submission of the Declaration of fidelity t...

Re: Citizenship ceremonies on 3rd July 2020

Hi guys, I paid the €950 fee for naturalization on 29th of January this year, but didn't get an invitation for a ceremony, and then got caught by the COVID-19 crysis. Is there anyone else in my situation? It's been 4.5 months since I sent the money and there's no real timeline of when/if I will att...

Got Invitation today.
Date of Ceremony :03 March 2020@2:30 pm
Send DD & Photos : 30 Jan 2020.
Applied : July 2019 as a dependent to Irish.
Wow, they're really cutting it close with these invites. It's a bit crap for people only getting 1 weeks notice.

Re: Next citizenship ceremonies will be in Spring 2020

Same thing happened to me yesterday, the letter didn't come in the morning when post man delivered some letter, it was yesterday afternoon around 2:00pm that my invitation letter was delivered to me. I think is not a regular post man that is delivering the letter. That's interesting. Fingers crosse...

Re: Next citizenship ceremonies will be in Spring 2020

I got my approval on 24th of Jan, sent the fee on 4th Feb. No invite, not feeling hopeful I'll get one. I don't know why it's done by regular post. Invites could easily get lost in the post and no one would be any the wiser. It should either be done by email and you have to confirm your attendance, ...

Re: Next citizenship ceremonies will be in Spring 2020

For those that have received invites, does it give a time slot, or just the day?

Bit awkward if it's just the day. That means we have to stay 2 nights. If it's am it will be too early to just drive down in the morning and if it's PM too late to drive home in the evening.

Re: Acknowledgement letter received 5 months after applying

I know it's frustrating. I was expecting to get letters to say I'd reached a certain stage or what my ref number was and I didn't get anything like that. They must just be so swamped that things are just falling to the wayside.

Re: Acknowledgement letter received 5 months after applying

It's well known there is a large backlog. I applied in April 2019. I got an acknowledgement and my passport returned in May, but only because I hounded them as I needed my passport. I didn't get a receipt for the €250 until October time and I never received a reference number. The next letter was 22...

Re: Next citizenship ceremonies will be in Spring 2020

I see now the date on the back of my letter was the 22nd of Jan. Although I emailed them yesterday (29th) and got a reply same day saying if I pay within the next 10 days (of the email) I would be considered for the upcoming ceremony. So I'm not sure how rigid the 10 days from date of letter is.

Re: Acknowledgement letter received 5 months after applying

U know people are waiting from 2016 and 2017 without any reason ? I know and I read few of the posts relating to it and still doesn't mean I cannot ask about my issue. Seems like there isn't really an issue at all to be honest. You had a much shorter waiting time than most others recently, so whats...

Re: Next citizenship ceremonies will be in Spring 2020

Hi guys, I just got a letter asking me for the 950 euro fee and passport photos. I know that there are two ceremonies scheduled in March, but wondering if someone knows when will be the next one? I already booked a holiday in April for 3 weeks and I'm afraid not to miss an invitation while I'm abro...

Re: Next citizenship ceremonies will be in Spring 2020

Hello Everyone, I never got a Second stage letter but today I got a letter to pay 950 to be considered for Ceremony, I applied in April 2019 and have received only an application ref number so far. My husband applied on the same day and he got only his passport so far and a application reference nu...

Re: What if I can't pay when they ask for the €950?

Congratulations !! But if I were you, I would put all pride aside and borrow from even the devil to sort this out because: 1. There’s an upcoming election and anything can happen. There can be change of government or minister, with different policies 2. No one knows when the next ceremony is going ...

Re: What if I can't pay when they ask for the €950?

Timeline is I got my passport back after about 12 weeks since application, which was back in April 2019, but only because I hounded them for it for travel. Then it was about 4 months and I got a a receipt, no ref number. Then yesterday I got this letter with a ref number on the top right and saying ...

Re: What if I can't pay when they ask for the €950?

So funny enough I got a letter yesterday asking for the fee and saying if I paid in 10 days I would be considered for the ceremony in March. I popped them an email explaining and they replied this morning to say it's fine, if I can't pay now I should wait until such time that I can pay and then once...

Re: What if I can't pay when they ask for the €950?

It's not that I don't want to pay because of personal circumstances, I had to use the money already saved for a family emergency. Yes, of course, I will be saving over the next few months and I could borrow from family if I need to. I was more just wondering if there is a time limit or something on ...

What if I can't pay when they ask for the €950?

Hi, For a personal emergency I had to use the €950 I had earmarked for my citizenship fee. I believe my application is still a long way off, I have a receipt but no reference number. If they ask and I don't have the money for another 6 months, will it be put on hold? Or will I have to start all over...

I got my passports back in May (by my own request) and I still haven't had my receipt and reference number.

It's been 5 months since they originally received my application and they haven't even managed to send me a receipt!

Re: 2019 Naturalization Response Delay Discussion

I'm the same, applied at start of April. Got my passport back 6 weeks later after requesting along with the generic letter saying I will be processed in due course and will receive ref number and receipt then. So it's now been 15 weeks since they received the application and still no receipt or numb...

Re: Passport return/Tipperary DSU?

Sorry I'm only just seeing these responses now. When I got the passport back it just had a letter acknowledging my application but no receipt or reference number. I have to wait again for those, but won't have to send passport back. It's now been 12 weeks since they received the application and stil...

Re: Passport return/Tipperary DSU?

I sent another email about 30 minutes ago with the subject "URGENT PLEASE RESPOND" and got a response just now! My passport is being returned today and I won't need to resubmit it :D
Not sure if it was the physical letter that arrived today or the second email, I'm just relieved its coming back.
