Re: Naturalisation application documentation

From the gov.uk website: https://www.gov.uk/apply-citizenship-indefinite-leave-to-remain/how-to-apply Fill in the form online. You’ll be asked to make an appointment at a UK Visa and Citizenship Application Services (UKVCAS) service point to provide your biometric information (your fingerprints and ...

Re: Data sharing for Absences from UK?

I appreciate the feedback! Maybe I am indeed overthinking this matter. Perhaps it is even the case that it isn't needed for those who are applying through the settled status (as mentioned by the earlier poster!) Please, don't take my post for granted - I'm actually not sure my self and asking quest...

Re: Data sharing for Absences from UK?

I do not have any experience and cannot help you, but we are in a similar boat - and I like to share something that confuses me. In the form AN-10-19, which is for naturalization, section 2.4 says: If you have been granted indefinite leave to remain under the EU Settlement Scheme you do not need to ...

Re: Which is better - Application for British Citizenship by Descent or Naturalisation?

A well-known example is that only 'natural born citizens' of the USA can be their president. Well, that's more privilege than a right, considering that there is also an age requirement, which also disqualifies a bunch of people and make them unequal. Holding a political title is not right per se, b...

Re: Which is better - Application for British Citizenship by Descent or Naturalisation?

No, Citizenship is equal for all - no matter how it's obtained. Otherwise, it will be breach of fundamental rights of the democracy, which states that all men and women are equal. :)

So the rights are the same, yes. And for your future husband, the rules for bringing him in will be the same.

I'm sorry for interfering, but I was under impression that software developers ARE indeed professionals, as per this guide: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/british-nationals-nationality-policy-guidance which list this as accepted professionals : British Computer Society (BCS) - profession...

Form AN-10-19 and Settled status

Hello guys, I was going through the form of AN-10-19 for becoming a British citizen via naturalization. I was puzzled by section 2.4, which states: 2.4 If you are an EEA or Swiss national or the family member of an EEA or Swiss national and wish to use a permanent residence card to support your appl...

Re: Routes to UK citizenship - possible scenario?

I came to the UK in April 2015, not last year. Not sure on which post yo refer that says this year? Nevertheless, as I said, I'm familiar with the EEA route to citizenship - 5 years as pre-settled and 1 year of settled status- a total of 6 years- before you can apply for naturalization. So, if I und...

Routes to UK citizenship - possible scenario?

Hello, I would like to ask about an opinion on a possible case scenario. So, I'm currently in the UK as a family member of an EEA citizen. My wife has settled status, and I have the pre-settled status. Now, in a few months, I'll be able to apply for settled status. Around the same time, my wife woul...

Re: Continuous residence for settled status - when does it start?

Hello guys, I read somewhere, but now I can't find where that the continuous residence starts counting with the Family Permit and not only when you get the Residence Card. Now, my question is - when is the actual start date? When you obtain the FP (for my example, 6th of January) or when you actual...

Re: EEA with PR marrying non-EEA Visa or EEA2 question?

First apply for a family visa via the embassy, to come to the UK. That is valid for 6 months. After that, they will both need, if not already, apply online for Settled Status.

I'm sorry, I can't give you any advice, but I don't quite understand why did they refuse boarding? Do you have a visa for the country that you travel to?

Re: Residence Card or EU settlement scheme?? please help

Both should apply for the EU settlement - it's easier, faster and cheaper. As non-EU, you will get a card that will prove your pre-settled status. Residence cards will expire 2020 or 2021, depending of the Brexit, deal or no deal. Read everything here: https://www.gov.uk/settled-status-eu-citizens-f...

Re: EU settlement - Non EU family member - CoA and decision time

3 months process time? Then why they say 5 to 9 days? It's infuriating - and they were lying ... I send my RC to them and now it turns out that the whole summer I can't leave the UK because of it? omg ... Can't they at least return the documents - and take a whole year for decision - I don't care - ...

Re: What is likely to happen

For your wife, you actually won't need any of the payslips. She will apply online, read her biometric data from her passport with an Android phone - and she will also give her NIN. The check goes automatically via the NIN, so 99% she won't need to provide anything else. At least, that was the case f...

Re: Travelling spain together with EU spouse

I'm not sure why are you worried? Even if the Brexit happened, like yesterday, the rights of the EU citizens do not stop immediately - even if there is Brexit without a deal. https://www.gov.uk/settled-status-eu-citizens-families From that page - "The deadline for applying is 30 June 2021." That mea...
