Re: Foreign Birth Registration

This may be a bit of a silly question but I'm just wondering if the FBR offices are currently closed on Ireland due to COVID-19. I applied to the FBR in August of 2019 and I'm just curious if it will be longer then a 12 month wait due to this crisis - if anyone has any information please share I do...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Just checking and it seems things have got much worse since I received my FBR/Passport. I hit the 9-month mark a couple of days ago. Am patiently waiting and hoping next month. From Sulla's list, I believe there are still two March 2019 applicants that haven't yet reported being contacted - Kernzy ...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Joey There is a really good US based agency, operating out of Chicago, that deals with Italian and Irish citizenship by descent applications. They claim a 100% success rate with FBR. I can see why some people find that appealing. Sulla, what is the name of the agency in Chicago, please? I’d like to...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Joey Secondly, I think for many people there is a peace of mind element too. The agency is there to answer all the questions you may have about certificates, inconsistencies etc. Getting answers from the DFA is not easy after all. Many people want to ensure their application and document set are pi...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Thanks to this excellent thread, I was already aware that my application might be approaching its end (email acknowledging receipt of application 19th March 2019). Today I got my first indication - an email requesting more info  They say they couldn't reach the solicitor (lawyer in my office) ...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Thanks guys. The marriage cert makes sense now, as one of u said, it helps show that all the details tie in with each other across multiple documents. I’m awaiting a few documents arriving via post to get my process started. One last question for now. If my mum applied for her passport, with all do...

As I await my FBR (I'm from the April 2019 cohort), I was hoping to do a search for all posts related to passport application photos, rather than pester you all with questions that may have been asked and answered already. I can't seem to find how to do a search in this forum...there is no way, corr...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Hi all, I am helping my father (UK citizen, Resident Alien in the U.S.) apply for his first Irish passport. I see on the DFA site that for those that were born outside of Ireland, he should submit "Your original passport from another country" To be clear, this is the original passport, no? I am reca...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Any thoughts anyone on whether I should just send it in as an addendum once I get it? Or should I wait until I get a request for more information months and months from now? I note they are restructuring and sent someone's FBR cert to the wrong person...I am concerned.... I would definitely wait. F...
