Re: New Special Student Scheme 2005-2010

For my friend, portal "Completed" on Friday 10/11/19 and Registered Letter with Stamp 4S Visa received today 15/10/2019. Applied 24/10/2018, so almost a full year, and no additional info requested. I suspect we were are one of the final applications in this tranche. But if you are still waiting, han...

Re: New Special Student Scheme 2005-2010

Yes. Stamp 4S is considered "reckonable residence" in Ireland for the purposes of naturalisation. This program provides a path to Irish citizenship. It will take 5 years in most cases.

Re: New Special Student Scheme 2005-2010

My friend received a two-line letter from INIS today that she was approved under the Special Student Scheme, and that on older, pending application has therefore been closed. Portal still showing "Submitted." No further information requested. I suspect she will receive the full "Stamp 4S" letter soo...

Re: New Special Student Scheme 2005-2010

...but why they haven't mentioned the 20 days I spend in Brazil on 2011 as in holidays, 5 days in Spain on 2012? The fact that I had no visa in 2013 and travelled abroad for holidays doesn't change my residence status... That changes everything. You cannot return to Ireland on the basis of being a ...

Re: New Special Student Scheme 2005-2010

The main issue here is not about the wording of 'continuous'. It is due to the fact that the person left the state after his/her residence permit is expired. You can travel abroad without any issue as long as your residence permit is in date. Once you leave the state after the expiry date of the re...

Re: New Special Student Scheme 2005-2010

Hi all, mix of disappointment and frustration here, got my refusal letter Friday, applied on 31st October, refused because I left the state for 12 days in holidays to France back in 2013, they said one criteria is, "living continuously since have arrived in Ireland", they said I have not lived cont...

Re: New Special Student Scheme 2005-2010

Same situation here: Arrived March 2010, last Stamp 2 expired Dec 2015, and applied 24th Oct 2018. Still staring at the "Submitted Forms (1)" and "Completed (0)" for months. Thanks to all who posted their results.

Re: New Special Student Scheme 2005-2010

There was a respsponse by the good Ministertoday to a parliamentary question asked yesterday in the Dail about a specific application: https://www.oireachtas.ie/en/debates/question/2019-05-21/322/#pq_322. Take from it what you will. But I would seriously question whether these are really being proce...

Re: New Special Student Scheme 2005-2010

I submitted an application on behalf of a friend, a Pakistani national, who seemed to meet all of the criteria. We submitted on 25th October, and the online portal still shows "Submitted Forms (1)." I have no idea how these are being prioritized, because it sure isn't by "date received." It could b...
