Application status not updated after going to biometric appointment?

I applied and paid for my visa application on 2nd Feb, and went to my biometric appointment on 2nd March. Today, I tried to login to see my progress and I see the following message: 'You have a few more steps before your application will be complete.' https://imgur.com/f7RE11H This lead to a page as...

Re: Taking on full time permanent role after study period for tier 4 visa (without sponsorship)

So I called the right to work hotline I got from gov.uk I called twice (as my line got cut off one of the time), but the 2 people I talked to seemed to have different advice on my situation. One of them told me that I can take on a permanent role as long as the right to work check is re-done after I...

Taking on full time permanent role after study period for tier 4 visa (without sponsorship)

Hi, So I got a job offer for a full time permanent role (with no sponsorship) that starts on mid September, but I currently only have a tier 4 visa that expires on March 2021. I am a Masters student and my course ends Sept 2020 As I understand, tier 4 visa do not allow me to take on full time perman...

finishing my employment with tier2 before I start tier4. When is the latest I have to apply for tier4?

As title, so I currently hold a tier2 visa, and my employment is ending on 20th Sept. My course starts at 23rd Sept. When is the latest I have to submit my visa application for tier4? Can I usee my tier2 '60days grace period' for the first few weeks of my school and apply my tier4 visa at, say late ...

thanks. physicskate Does that mean I will be subject to labour market test etc. if I were to look for a job after I graduate? And I will require the 30k threshold instead of the 20k? stupid question maybe, but I do not read anywhere that the fact that I were a tier2 visa holder before classified me...

tier4 -> tier2 -> tier4 -> tier2 limitation?

Hi, so I originally got my tier4 to tier2 switch 2 years ago. I didn't enjoy the work (and that field in general), and I am looking to switch job but as it is quite hard to switch from tier2 to tier2 due to higher requirement for salary and LMT, I am looking to switch to a tier4 first and do a year ...

Re: Tier 2 to tier 4 switch. Work notice period overlap

are you saying that I won't be needing my tier4 visa in my first day of my masters? Yes of course. Is the university telling you that you cannot enrol with Tier 2 leave? I still haven't heard back from my university yet. (applied only last week) I am just thinking ahead to make sure things go smoot...

Re: Tier 2 to tier 4 switch. Work notice period overlap

but since I will require visa when I start the course, (and I assume visa arrive 5 days before my course starts, just for safety). I am not clear why you say that you need the Tier 4 visa in your hand before you start the course. Has the university said this? It is perfectly normal to enrol on a co...

Re: Tier 2 to tier 4 switch. Work notice period overlap

Also, when should my job terminate? At your convenience. If you want to work as long as possible, I guess you would resign 1 month before the start of your course. but since I will require visa when I start the course, (and I assume visa arrive 5 days before my course starts, just for safety). If I...

Re: Tier 2 to tier 4 switch. Work notice period overlap

So if my tier 4 application is not successful then I’ll be left without a job and without studying opportunity? What is your specific concern about your Tier 4 application? No specific concern, but just want an insurance 'just in case' however small the chance may be. EDIT: Just realised there's a ...

Re: Tier 2 to tier 4 switch. Work notice period overlap

Does this mean I have to hand in my notice for my job before my Visa is approved so I can meet the requirement that I won't be working when tier 4 visa is approved? Yes. If you want to work as long as possible, make your Tier 4 application as late as possible. You can make the Tier 4 application an...

Tier 2 to tier 4 switch. Work notice period overlap

so I currently have a tier 2 (general) visa, and I am looking to switch to tier 4(general) to do a postgrad which starts around mid Sept. (it is Aug 1st today) As my place is not secured yet, I still have not quit my job yet. I am planning to quit my job once my visa is secured just in case there's ...

Re: >540 days leave, what is the likelihood of succesful ILR application?

Thinking about my alternative route. From my understanding, I can switch to tier5 for 2 years, then switch to ILR after that? (assuming my absence date will be within limit for 10 years route after 2 years visa period) You cannot switch to tier 5 within the UK. so realisticlly, except for tier2 rou...

Re: >540 days leave, what is the likelihood of succesful ILR application?

Tier 4 counts but under the 10 year. Tier 4 should also be applied from outside the UK. FLR(FP) is also for people applying under the private life not just family life looks like I won't be able to make the private life requirement(I am already 25). Thinking about my alternative route. From my unde...

Re: >540 days leave, what is the likelihood of succesful ILR application?

That is not how the rules work. You cannot get ILR with those absences under SET(LR). Your best bet is to continue under Tier 2 until 2022. You may also try to apply under FLR(FP) route but I suggest you do that only if you were about to lose your Tier 2 status is FLR(FP) irrelevant to me as I don'...

Re: Getting fired from tier 2 months before LR 10years mark

Thanks, does the time between my application for LR and actually getting the final approval allow me to stay in the UK? For example after 60days period it will be mid September and I will be applying for the LR at early September. If the decision is not made until early October, can I stay in the UK...

Getting fired from tier 2 months before LR 10years mark

Hi, I’ve been in the UK since 2009 September through tier 4, then switched to tier 2 in Aug 2017. From what I understand, I will be able to apply for long residence in Sept 2019 this year. My issue is that it’s looking increasing likely that I will be fired in around 2 months time, around mid July i...
