Re: Airline agent confused--travelling from US to UK

Did you come to the UK based on the EU settlement scheme? For some reason, only my son's Norwegian passport is linked even though I did state he has Canadian as well. I was hoping to find a way to link his Canadian one along with his Norwegian one because the Norwegian Embassy is as useless as boobs...

Dual Citizenship one EEA one not

We reside in the UK and my son was given pre-settled status based on his Norwegian nationality. We tried to apply under his Canadian one but the offices in Norway said no. Fast forward to now. The Norwegian Embassy is incompetent. There is no way to get an appointment to renew passports. They send a...

I didn’t get my Norwegian residence card back until my surinder singh route application was approved (the process was 3 months in my case).

NHS and Surinder Singh route application/BRP

I just received a letter from NHS that they want proof that I can receive medical services. I was approved a BRP based on the Surinder Singh route. Is that card enough? Do I have to pay or the mentioned surcharge?

Re: Surinder Singh Settled Status Paper Application:

My passport was returned within a week of applying and my pre-settled status letter with my Norwegian residence permit plus copies of my documents were sent when I got approval. I didn’t send originals of those. A marriage certificate is needed. I also sent a registration of proof of address and our...

I would hope so! A marriage certificate is needed. I also sent a registration of proof of address and our daughter’s birth certificate. I didn’t send much else like photos or gym membership cards etc. Good idea with the birth certificate. Our daughter was born 2 weeks ago, so that should be good evi...

Re: Surinder Singh Settled Status Paper Application:

I think it’s just to make it easier to come and go. You can prove your right to reside by sending a link to whoever needs the proof. In my case, I applied for child benefits and I printed instructions with a generated pincode for them to look up that info. I’m not letting my brc out of my sight! I g...

Re: Surinder Singh Settled Status Paper Application:

I got a biometrics card yep. The COA is just a receipt that they have received your application and you get to use the same rights you have now. The renting agency I used wanted a copy of my proof of pre-settled though. I think under Surinder Singh route that we are not Canadians but family members ...

Re: Surinder Singh Settled Status Paper Application:

Well I lived in Norway since 2005 and my husband moved there in 2012. We met in 2013 and I’ll spare everyone the details. We married in 2018 and decided to move to the UK after a family tragedy. I applied for the EEA family permit in June/July 2019 due to Brexit worries. Granted the EEA permit in Au...

Re: EU settlement - Non EU family member - CoA and decision time

He’ll receive a letter that will have in big letters: “certificate of application”. It’s just a fancy wording for they are in receipt of his application. He’ll most likely get one within a few weeks after completing his biometrics appointment. I had lived in Norway (not EU citizen) for about 8 years...

I’m still waiting. When I called to change my address, the person I spoke with said they were very backed up. Was nice being told that instead of the standard “It’s in processing. Please wait”.

Re: Settlement Scheme Family Permit, next thing to do?

I think you should check with the Spanish government if you can still consider yourself a resident of their country if you move to the UK. When you apply for pre-settled, they request you send your EEA residence card with your passport and they keep it but return your passport. I’m non-EEA and where...
