Re: Concealing British Citizenship

The IO obviously believed the lie you told him/her. Many would do their own checks and next time you may not be so lucky. However, there is no risk of you losing your British citizenship if caught in this lie. What will happen though is your ILR Visa will be physically cancelled because as a British...

I am an IO or BFO to give us our new title. Station agent is pretty much spot on. I have granted entry to lots of people on the face of it who really stood to be refused. However, speaking to them and any sponsor allows me in some cases to give the benefit of the doubt which an ECO will not give. In...

I see people in your situation regularly. It really is no biggie. . Good to know your view on this. Would you not advise the person to get a new vignette/BRP for future travels? or allow entry again without it? Most definitely, she should rectify the problem as soon as she can. The bottom line...

I have the opposite view to Ban S and this stems from my experience as a Border Force Officer. Yes travel on your temporary passport and have a copy of your current visa. As you said, explain the situation to the officer, he/she will probably ask you to take a seat while checks are done. Once these ...

Good luck.

I hope you know that the maximum period you can be granted a student visitor visa on arrival in the UK is six months? If you wish to stay longer than this to study English then you would have to make your application for such a visa at the British embassy from Croatia.

You probably won't have problem clearing immigration.
Your problem will be convincing your airline to carry you.

I told you in my earlier reply what you would need to show an IO to satisfy him/her that you are genuinely intending to study whilst in the UK and that you qualify for entry as a student visitor. In addition,it would be advisable to have a return flight booked. Just a curious aside here, when you arr...

Elongated stays as a tourist often attract the attention of IOs and even more so in your case as,according to you,you wish to spend 2-3 months having just spent 6 months previously as a visitor. If you were to come back so soon after then the likelihood is you would be refused. Although this is not ...

About to go to bed Sonia, will come back to you on this tomorrow-I mean later today-if no one else does. In short however, from July this year you won't need a visa to come to the UK. As for working, not too sure what the restrictios will be, but in practice I really don't think that UKBA will be ch...

How long does he have left on his visa and how long does he intend to stay? Not sure who told you he would have difficulty, because he shouldn't. An IO might ask why he has waited so long to use the visa, but so long as he has a true and reasonable explanation as to why this is the case and he has e...

I'm not sure why you want to apply for a visa for your gf when she can enter the UK without one. I think you might be making this unnecessarily complicated. A six month visit with no return ticket, no permanent employment and money issues. Unless she is lucky and gets to see an extremely laid back IO at the desk, she is almost certainly going to get refused.

Depending on what category you are granted entry not all landing cards are recorded or kept.

There should be no problems concerning the validity of the stamp. This mistake often happens.
