the visa was granted on the 3rd of July, sorry for the confusion. I didn't apply for the ILR directly because I'm stupid. I selected the wrong option, I thought a visa extension would automatically get me a permanent visa after 5 yrs. But then I looked further and found that it was a separate type ...

Ok no problem. I actually entered the uk in March 2014 under a fiancee visa and then switched to a spouse visa after I got married, on 3rd of July 2014. My current spouse visa expires on 3rd of July this year.

I got a spouse visa in 2014, extended it in 2016 and now it's due to expire next month... 5 years from the time it was first issued. Not really sure how that is answering my question?
