Re: Help! UK Spouse visa question

Have you heard of any success stories of people finding work in a different country? I know as an employer I'd probably be hesitant to employ someone who isn't even in the country yet Most British spouses return to the UK first, get work and then wait the 6 months to sponsor their partner. If my ...

Any property that will be sold if you move and profit from sale?? No we have rented homes our whole relationship and at the moment we're staying with my father in-law and his wife. I'm going to have to look for a job here and work for 6 months and then try and get employed in the UK before I leave ...

Re: Help! UK Spouse visa question

I just read online that it can be combined and then other places it says just the income of the UK citizen so I just wanted to be clear on that because it's so confusing! Income can be combined for the extension after 2.5 years and for ILR. You cannot combine salary income for the initial entry ...

Re: Help! UK Spouse visa question

In order to get the spouse visa and sponsor my husband do I need to be in the UK already? Not necessarily no. Also the £18,600 income can that be combined between both of us or can that just be my husband's income? As already stated in your other EEA FP topic, it is ONLY the income of the British ...

Help! UK Spouse visa question

Hello everyone, I just want to get a better understanding of the UK spouse visa so that we can start figuring out what we need to do before we apply :) So we're a family of 5 living in the USA, my husband is American and me and our 3 children hold British passports (because I'm a British citizen ...

Re: EEA family permit appeals

You can still get their British passports as both the us and the UK allow dual nationality. Note that for a spouse visa, it is YPUR income that is relevant for the initial entry clearance visa. Your husband's income won't be considered at all for the initial visa. I am fairly sure the paragraph in ...

Re: EEA family permit appeals

So all these people who get accepted for this eea family permit who are not even British can get some random sponsor in the UK and go there but someone who is born there and it's THEIR country they can't go back. All sounds ridiculous to me They are not 'random sponsors', it doesn't work like that ...

Re: EEA family permit appeals

Why are your daughters not British or have British passports then? "In order to satisfy the requirements of the Surinder Singh judgement, under regulation 9(2) the following conditions need to be met: (A) the British citizen ("BC")- (I) is residing in an EEA state as a worker, self-employed person ...

Re: EEA family permit appeals

Are you sure the letter didn't state evidence was omitted to prove you are an EU (non British) citizen?? What is the exact wording of the refusal? A British citizen can't sponsor family under the EU rules for a family permit unless you have been living in another EU state exercising treaty rights ...

EEA family permit appeals

Hello we just recently got our eea family permit refusal, the reasoning was that my husband didn't provide documents to prove that I (his wife) am a British citizen but it clearly has it written on my passport and birth certificate. The other reason was that he didn't provide proof that I reside in ...
