Well, that's a coincidence/relief. Just received an email from dfa.ie, stating they received my docs.

And now the long wait begins. :)
Well, that worked out I'd say. Now hope they don't need anything else and you get an email before years end.

Good Luck

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

There's a bit of a debate on the IrishCitizenship subreddit, with some people (maybe just one person) claiming that marriage certificates are fully optional unless they're needed to demonstrate a name change. This is counter to what the application says. It's very clear that all the documents are r...

For the above post about sending a notarized Driver License-that's in addition to sending the notarized passport. You don't have to but I'm sure it helps.

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Just to be clear.

To get the passport you can send a notarized, color copy of both the FBR certificate. & a notarized, color copy of your current non- Irish passport.

Can we send notarised copies of the FBR certs?
My mistake. For the passport you can send a notarized color copy of the FBR ceftificate.

Per DFA.ie website:

Original FBR Certificate or a certified colour copy (certified by a solicitor or notary public)

P.S. - I looked on the DFA.ie website and it does not mention putting application number on the photographs either.

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Does anyone from the US know how exactly to notarize or sign & witness the back of the 2 photos? I'm using the 2x2 US passport photo dimensions from Walgreens.
