Re: MP received application approval status but I haven’t

My understanding is the Home Office seem to batch process approval emails each Monday so I would think there is a good chance you'll get it tomorrow. The Council (your local one unless you nominated otherwise) in the meantime should have been sent your Certificate by the Home Office and they should ...

Re: online application submitted but do not know what to do next?

As above... all normal. Applications seem to be taking minimum 3 months with many being reported around the 3.5 month mark. Currently December applications seem to be getting approved with the odd January thrown in. (Caveat some take much longer). So realistically perhaps May or beyond before you he...

Re: Apply for Citizenship

A little confused by the enquiry but I think this covers my thoughts. As I understand it India does not allow you to hold citizenship along with another. This is unfortunate. There's clear guidance here which indicates after getting British citizenship you would have to apply to renounce Indian nati...

Re: Not asked for referee's profession?

It certainly should ask in the online application for profession in adult application.. is it different for child? You could do as advised above or maybe the "how does the referee know the applicant?" question could be used 'Their school teacher for 4 years'

As above.... and just to note local authorities sometimes may only have one ceremony a month unless a private paid for one.... so my advice contact them soon and arrange a suitable date. Travel is not an issue.

Re: Citizenship Evidence upload

Yeah I think you'll just have to keep trying scanning with different settings (if possible).... try with colour and black and white... or try to photograph the form. I know I had to fiddle a bit with brightness and contrast on the scan to get my partner's photograph looking reasonable but that was m...

Re: Travel after submitting citizenship application

Hi, I have submitted by citizenship application and gave biometrics on 11th Mar 2024. Now I have a need to travel to India in May 2024 for 2 weeks. What should I do if I get an approval decision during or right before my planned travel? At what point do I have to return my BRP and how many days aft...

Anyone has recent experience with submit button?? Applications seem to be being processed based on application date not biometrics/doc...

Re: Naturalisation as spouse of British Citizen queries

Hi, I am currently filling out my application for naturalisation. I first came to the UK in 2011 on a student visa. and went home in 2017. In 2018, I applied for a spouse visa and re-entered the UK as a spouse. . My question is, what shall I put as my first arrival in the UK, in 2011 or 2018?I know...

Re: Moving from England to Scotland while Applying

Hi Friends, I'll qualify for citizenship soon but I might also need to move from England to Scotland while waiting for the decision. I wonder if it's something that might cause problems in general? Or maybe problems with discrepancies in legislation? Will I still be considered under the English rul...

Re: Naturalisation Application - 4 + Months, No Response from FNE

From what I can see in the reported timelines October and some November 2023 applications are the current most likely wave of approvals and so there must be many applications made around this time like yours still awaiting a decision. Seen one or two from December but none beyond that... unfortunate...

If the name on your naturalisation certificate is not correct then you need to request a correction.... did they put the name as you specified it in the naturalisation application?

Re: Getting citizenship with criminal record

Agree with the advice you've received on previous thread and above. Recently we've had a cluster of people refused on grounds of good character due to criminal past including some apparently flawed reasons like failure to disclose when full disclosure was given. In all cases I'd say the offending wa...

3 weeks does seem to be a long time. I'd be inclined to contact FNE and query whether your application has indeed been approved and if so why no formal email notifying such and council unaware.

Re: Naturalisation application queries

If they're not able to one way or another (and there are various ways you could do such) create their signature for putting onto document in electronic format then default ...

Does the time spent waiting for the result begin with the online application or with the submission of supporting documents at the biometric appointment? Study of the timelines very strongly suggests online application but as above obviously they cannot process application without the biometrics an...

Re: Applying for British Citizenship after ILR and time away from UK

Sorry I missed the comment "she is due to fly out again next week" above....hmmm Yeah not enough time realistically to ensure biometrics can be done and all documents gotten together like referees. All bad timing I'd say.... my advice would depend on whether further trips planned in coming months......
