Re: If someone with presettled status is unemployed are they considered illegally resident in the UK?

Well residence after pre settled status was acquired will be considered lawful for citizenship purpose. However if a person was for a period of 5 year not exercising treaty rights and then acquired settled status, such person will need to wait for 5 years to qualify for citizenship. I've been tryin...

Re: Surinder Singh Settled Status Paper Application:

Hi many thanks for your reply, and good luck with your application. You’re right, I’ve read many posts and all says 6 months, however are they returning the passport and the residence card,? And what about biometric? Passports should be returned within a few weeks, and they will keep the Article 10...

Re: Surinder Singh Settled Status Paper Application:

Congrats to those who have recently received their status! Which channels are you using to contact the HO and make complaints? It's around 3 months since we submitted biometrics and received the COA soon after, so I suspect we have a bit of a wait still, but I'd like to be ready because as soon as i...

EU Settlement Scheme

Does anybody know what one should do if the 6 month EEA family permit expires while waiting for pre-settled status? (I'm doing the SS route with my wife and don't want to overstay of course!)

Ah right, so it's also possible to scan your own documents for the EEA FP?

Submitting certified translations

Hi all, I have a question about document scanning. Some of my certified translations are stapled together, and the certification is on a separate sheet (because the document is too long for one page). The pages are then folded and stamped in one corner so that when stapled together, it's clear that ...

Re: Surinder Singh Settled Status Paper Application:

Nice to see people are having success here :) I have a question regarding this process and the Surinder Singh Settled Status application: My wife will soon apply for an EEA family permit via the Surinder Singh route. Assuming she gets it, and we move to the UK, we'll then apply for pre-settled statu...

Re: Surrinder Singh after Brexit?

The route will be extended until 2022 if the relationship exists on exit day, or the end of 2020 if the relationship is established after exit day. I was at the British embassy in Berlin yesterday, where this was reiterated – although I have to say, they were distinctly lacking on details. It does, ...

Re: Tight Timing: Ending Up in Limbo between EEA permit and visa with a No Deal Brexit?

I'm in a similar situation to you as a British citizen living in Berlin for four years, with a non-EEA spouse. We want to move to the UK early next year (timing is too tight before Brexit happens). The UK gov issued a white paper on this in April. Page 4 gives you information on family reunification...
