Re: Getting married to a UK national

Brilliant! thanks a for the replies, I'll relay that to him. If I remember correctly he had to sit in a HO recognised English language test just before he applied for the extension of his student visa in May 2014(which is still ongoing) so I'm guessing that'll do. Just a quick question about earning...

Getting married to a UK national

Hi there and sorry if this has been discussed before. My cousin (who applied for extension of his student visa and it's on going pending a court appeal) is planning on marrying his gf finally. His girlfriend is a UK national and they have been in relationship for about 3 years but not living togethe...

Re: British Passport application processing timelines (only)

I've read through many pages of comments but I'll like to get an idea as what what is now considered the best way to apply for a British passport in 2015? Is sending direct the best way assuming you can follow the application instructions well? 1) Direct - Not many people send direct...is it becaus...

Re: British passport to book tickets but travel on Pak passp

Your son does not actually need a Pakistani passport to travel if he's got nicop which they normally make before issuing passports. Nicop is valid for 10 years usually as far as I'm aware and is more than enough to prove that he's a Pakistani citizen and doesn't require a visa to travel to Pakistan....

The only difference between using NCS and posting it yourself is that when using NCS you get to keep your original documents (passport etc).

Re: May 2014 - Naturalisation Application Timeline

Finally may applications have started rolling again. When I called my mp again on the 20th they called the HO and let me know that it was done that day. After a few days when I called the contact centre to enquire they informed me that it was done on 24th. And of course now I received the letter dat...

Anything before expenses is your turnover not income.
You'd have to use your gross income (after expenses but before tax).

15th would still be counted as a day you were in the UK. You are not bound to stay in the UK for any number of days after you've submitted the application.

You can also ask neighbouring councils for NCS appointments if they have anything earlier. It doesn't have to be your local council.

Re: Reference and identity MN1

I had my local pharmacist to sign for my kids MN1 form as the second referee. If your GP is charging £25 then I say go ahead with it.
You need two referees and only one of them have to be involved with the child in professional capacity.

Re: MN1 child registration as British citizen

Too close to call tbh even if you're going for same day service for your ILR. From the current timeline 2 months window to apply for naturalisation and then passport is a bit too tight. If you can't delay the travel then I would recommend getting him Indian passport and including him in your ILR app...

Re: Child born outside UK. Both parents settled, but only ap

From what I understand a naturalisation is an individual application and it shouldn't matter if the entire family isn't applying together. However, I would still recommend you attach a NOC from non-applying parent when applying for child. I was once asked to provide a NOC from my wife (basically a l...

Re: Where can I get a passport application form?

Where can I get a passport application form? I dont want to apply online and would like to receive the paper application by post. Thank you. You can make an online application or request a passport application form online or get one from a Post Office that offers the Passport Check and Send service.

Re: May 2014 - Naturalisation Application Timeline

Its not annoying if they said your application is not allocated to the caseworker because they never can allocate an application to any caseworker until his/ her checks been completed. I'm sure the checks are carried out AFTER the case has been allocated to a caseworker as s/he would be the one req...

Re: May 2014 - Naturalisation Application Timeline

Where I do not fully agree with home office racially profiling certain nationalities, I also admit that the argument does carry some weight seeing that the majority of the outstanding applications here are from Pakistani nationals. My entire family that was naturalised were Pakistani nationals and H...

Re: Complicated question

You are misunderstanding my question. When did she get ILR? Did she do the Life in the UK test for ILR? This is a fundamental requirement for ILR, except for some exceptional circumstances I think. If she did LIUK test for ILR, she DOES NOT have to do the test again for citizenship. Does she meet t...
