letter from employer for ILR

Hi, I am applying for ILR in November because of being here on an Ancestral visa since November 2007. I would just like to have a template of the letter I must get my employer to write for me. Another question is because I want to submit via postal service should I just use the Post Office special d...

Number of days out of the country

For ILR, is it true that you do not count the day you leave the UK and the return day? Also I visited Dublin for 2 days in 2008, do I count these days? My total days out of the country has been 116. Thanks

UK Ancestry Visa and ILR

My question is: is it possible to apply for an 5 year extension (because the criteria are different). If they give me the extension to the...

API and ESTA

I have a South African passport with a US 10 year holiday visa in the old passport which I will be carrying with the new passport. I have just purchased a trip to the USA for 2 weeks. The travel agent was telling me about API and ESTA, isn't this only for visa free countries? Surely my 10 year visa ...

ILR postal versus face to face

I was told that if my case was slightly complicated that a postal application was the best course of action, that if I did it face to face, the person is there to just tick certain boxes and if it was seen to be too complicated it would turn into a postal application anyway... I just want to get a g...

I have tried to search for information on how UK Ancestry route will be dealt with when Probationary Citizenship comes into play, but have found nothing. Can anyone on this board shed any light on this topic?

I am curious about something regarding ILR and the definition of 'economic activity'. Does this purely refer to one's earnings in a working capacity or does this also include a wider structure of one's income whether it be in a passive (ie interest on money, shares, rentals) or purely active (earnin...

Thanks Vinny. Could you please provide me with a link to the Caseworker's rules regarding UK Ancestry and ILR? There used to be a lot more info regarding UK Ancestry on the BIA site and now its thin on the ground.
