Guidance on Translation of Docs for Visitor Visa

Hi there, I'm in the process of sponsoring my parents application for a UK visitor visa. Some supporting docs are in spanish. Do you know if I can ask a friend to translate or do I need to use an official translator? I can't find anywhere that says it must be an official translator or whether I need...

Standar Visitor Visa - Multiple Entry - Rules

Hi there, I am a British Citizen (by Naturalisation). Over the last 5 years my non-uk parents have visited the UK a couple of times using a tourist visa. They have applied each time for a single entry visa. I am having a baby and I would like my parents to come more regularly so I am thinking on app...

Application approaching the 6month

I read here that if there is a problem with an application or if it is complex, Home Office will write to explain why it will not be decided within the normal standard. " We will write within the normal processing time for the 8 week standard and within 12 weeks for the 6 month standard." Does this ...

Re: Bringing Non-EU Parents to UK

Yes, this route is closed and even if you marry in the future, it won't change anything. Thanks. This seems very unfair. Even if we get married now and I can provide evidence of cohabiting with my unmarried partner for last 10 years. I guess I can try applying as it's free but no guarantee it will ...

Re: Bringing Non-EU Parents to UK

When did you get married? If before December 31st 2020, then yes, you can bring your parents under the EU Settlement Scheme route, otherwise, no. I am actually not married yet. I got my SS as unmarried partner. We were supposed to get married last year but because of Covid had to postpone to this y...

Bringing Non-EU Parents to UK

Hi there, I am looking for some advice/experience on bringing non-eu parents to the UK. I am the non-EU husband of a EU citizen both with Settled Status - ILR. I read Here that it is possible to bring dependent family members but that the 'family permit' is ending from June 2021. Do you know if this...

Re: A question regarding online application Please

Hello Sorry needed to check this You quoted ( you will need to prove 5 years residence including the absence limits. Your passport stamps are enough to prove that. Also, you have to be physically present in UK at the start of the 5 year period. Employment/unemployed is meaningless for AN. You could...

Re: Issue when uploading referee declaration forms

Greetings, I’ve just submitted my citizenship application via EU Settlement Scheme/ILR 1 year. Hi there, I am also about to submit my naturalization application via Eu Settlement Scheme/ILR 1 year (family member), I was wondering if you had to send your BRP or passport to the home office. Also as I...

Re: How to get an appointment for biometrics?

Depends what you applied for and when you applied online. Thanks CR001. I applied last week for Naturalization (EU Settled Status + 1 year) Only a small number of centres are currently open. I get all this. However slightly frustrating that they are happy to take my £1,300 and leave me in limbo and...

How to get an appointment for biometrics?

Hi there, Following government guidelines and Public Health England advice on COVID-19, UK Citizenship Application Services (UKVCAS), in conjunction with UKVI will begin a controlled, phased re-opening of Service Points from 1 June 2020. I have tried to book an appointment to enroll my fingerprints ...

Re: Non-EU with Settled Status - Citizenship due in June 20

I understand that ILR / Settled Status means that you have a secure status under UK law and there is no time limit on how long you can stay in the UK nor dependent on anyone else. But I would be interested to hear from the gurus in this forum as I am in a similar situation.

Travelling with ILR - Which queue do you join at passport control?

Apologies for this very basic question but I am a non EU citizen who has just been granted ILR in the form of a Biometric Residence Permit. I was wondering if now that I have this card whether I could join the UK or EU queues when going through border control/immigration at airports. (ILR was throug...

Re: When should you apply for RC/EU Settlement from a RC as Extended Family member? Should you leave the UK in between?

Fresh from the press. I've just received an e-mail from HO confirming my ILR/Settled Status as the unmarried partner of a EU citizen. It took around 7 weeks to process my application. I spent the last week laying low and worrying (perhaps unnecessarily) as my 5 year residence card (passport vignett...

Re: When should you apply for RC/EU Settlement from a RC as Extended Family member? Should you leave the UK in between?

Oh, OK... so on midnight of the 5th anniversary of the Extended family member having been issued with EEA documentation they will acquire the right of permanent residence, which means, even if their EEA RC lapses, they are automatically lawfully in the UK! wonderful. I am currently in this scenario...

Re: When should you apply for RC/EU Settlement from a RC as Extended Family member? Should you leave the UK in between?

It is reasonable for an Extended family member to apply for a Permanent residence card prior to completion of their 5 years. Well I can speak from experience that my Permanent Residence application was refused because I applied too early. I thought that the 2 years living together with my unmarried...

Re: My FP expiring next year still haven’t got my pre settled status

That is incorrect. You are an extended family member, NOT a direct family member. There is a difference. Your rights are not automatic and depend on your EEA FP being valid. Hi kamoe, So in your view when should a Non-eu extended family member (unmarried partner) with a residence card (5 year valid...

Re: Durable relationship / civil partnership problems

a) Do we still count as unmarried partners, or do the changes to the law for civil partnership now make it possible to submit my application for pre-settled status as opposite-sex civil partners using the French PACS? Unmarried partners are classified as 'Extended Family Members" and as such have l...

Re: EU Settlement: Lounes paper form?

I think January will be the last month this would work, based on last night elections results it looks like we will be out of EU own the 31st January 2020. Why would this be? The UK being out of the EU has no impact on the EU Settlement applications; the deadline is still December 2020. Unless I am...
