Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Well folks, the proverbial confirmation of address email has arrived. Its been a ride, but it looks like we are finally nearing the end.

14 June 2019 - Online application submitted

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

FBR Friends, My apologies in advance if this question has already been answered on here. A topic search did not yield the information that I need. I would like to know if there is a current email address at which I can reach out to the FBR team, as the webchat function does not seem to be available ...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Thanks for the reply Pb300. It's good to know I'm not alone. If anyone else filed around mid-2019 and haven't heard anything yet, please post so we know there are others in our position. I don't really have the time to try to call the FBR office, so I guess I'll just continue to wait. Hey there--I ...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

I am right there with you both laurakathleen and Luna2019. I got my confirmation of documents email August 2019, then not a word since. I too noticed the September 2019 and later applicants making it through and really wish there was a way to make sure mine is at least in the pipeline still.

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Thats encouraging to hear. I am nearing the one year mark since receiving my confirmation of document receipt email from Dublin. This year has been a weird one by far, and continued delays in this process has had me feeling a bit down lately. But cheers to a (hopefully) productive resumption of prod...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Hello. Just wanted to update my status. FBR showed up in the mail Dec 30th and I immediately sent out my passport application to the Ottawa Irish embassy as instructed. I have a job offer in Amsterdam starting date March 1st. Gotta have that EU passport for it to go through. Any ideas on how long t...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

That would be a more accurate way of saying of it. Thankfully the certified copies work though. These are what pretty much everyone here has used from what I can tell. If they required the actual pieces of paper from three generations ago, I doubt many of us would be able to pull it off.

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

MKCG,

They mean certified copies of the long form certificates purchased from the relevant registry authorities. I used www.nidirect.gov.uk to get my grandfather's from Northern Ireland and it looks www.groireland.ie is the site to use for certificates issued in Ireland.

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

That is quite odd. I sent mine from a UPS Store and was offered all three carriers, with no mention of a PO Box restriction. Either way, USPS got it there no problem.

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Dcapp, I sent mine via USPS without any issue and it was significantly less expensive than the Fedex option. The tracking number provided only worked until the package left the US, but I read this is a common issue with tracking numbers for all international mail from the US. Either way, the DFA wil...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Hello all, I am a current FBR applicant, new to the board, with a question regarding some of the information I submitted along with my application. First I will share my application basis and current progress, then the question. FBR Stats: I live in North Carolina, USA, and applied via my grandfathe...
