Request for such cases

Hello wpilr,

Many thanks for your reply. I will try to negotiate at the PEO.

Can you point me to the posts relating similar experience as my case(extra leave after 5 years from entry clearance?

Any members who have had a similar case perhaps?

Thanks again!

28 day rule IMPORTANT application tomorrow

Folks, Apologies for a query late in the day, but it is URGENT for me. I was granted entry clearance on 1st Nov, but I entered UK on 30 Nov 2007. I understand I will be covered by the 5 year rule concession, but to complicate the issue, my current leave does not run out until the 30 Nov 2012. (At th...

ILR Application - is Tier 1 approval letter mandatory

I am about to apply in person for PEO Appointment for ILR. I have my original HSMP Approval Letter, but not the Tier 1 approval one. I don't even remember if I got a Tier 1 Approval Letter!

Is it necessary to have that for ILR?

Unemployed and ILR

I have just got a reply from UKBA Settlement, which seems to suggest that I must be in some kind of employment at the time of applying for ILR, either employed or self employed. It appears it is NOT OK to be unemployed at the time of ILR. Can someone shed more light as to have they got ILR when they...

28 days calc - confirmation of dates

The above information is really helpful in working out 28 days for ILR. I have worked out the dates in my own case using the link shared, but just for my peace of mind I am posting this to get some guidance from experienced guru/senior members. My details: First entry into the UK under HSMP. 30 Nov ...

ILR when unemployed

Hello, I have just been made redundant from my job, I am due to apply for ILR in November 2012. I am now going self employed, and was wondering if I cannot show any income from the business until that time, will that create any problems with ILR? I meet the income criteria as per Tier 1 requirements...

Letter to MP - Raise your voice before its too late!!

Hi All, It is a great idea to raise our voice with our area MP's about this, the more we do that, the more will be the strength in our argument against a retrospective change in settlement rules. All of us may use the following template with any changes as necessary, I have written to my area MP wit...

ILR in Consulting Job with absences from UK

Hello, I am considering taking up a consulting job in UK, which will involve travel overseas on business. Can I be eligible for ILR if I get a letter from the employer saying that the time spent outside UK was for business purposes? Will those days spent on business then be treated outside the 180 d...

Weird

Guys,

I have seen differing replies on this.

Can somebody point out some guidance from BIA saying that absences from UK on business would not be considered for ILR?

So, if I spent some time on projects outside UK, and my employer gave me a letter to prove that, would I not be eligible for ILR?

Consulting Job: time period outside UK and Tier 1

Hello Friends, I have been offered a consulting role which is primarily on the payrolls of the Indian arm of the company, so I will get an Indian salary. In addition, they have projects in UK, so I will be paid a UK stipend. My queries are: -I might have to spend a lot of time in Europe, US or other...

Citizenship BILL

Hello Meats,

Well they can certainly do what they like, but it is against basic human rights and a genuine expectation that migrants like me were given; of obtaining ILR in 5 years.

That is why I oppose any retrospective changes. This amounts to cheating, and is a gross violation of human rights.

Citizenship BILL

I am alarmed by this new Citizenship Bill and the latest proposals. What about us who arrived in November 2007 for example?? IT IS VERY UNFAIR FOR THE GOVERNMENT TO INCREASE THE ILR/PR FOR US FROM 5 TO 8 YEARS! We should campaign against this and ensure no retrospective changes are introduced for ex...

New Citizenship Bill: ILR to PRL Changes

Hello Friends, I was going through the discussion over the new Citizenship Bill, I did notice the changes such as probationary citizenship, community work etc. But I have a specific query, for NON JR HSMP/Tier 1, will the period of 5 years, for ILR or PRL as they now call it be altered, or will it c...

I agree, Croydon takes much more time than the other PEO's. I guess I was indeed lucky with the extra 30 days!! Maybe it was just a shortfall of 3 days which helped, and I repeated the point several times in cover letter and in person to several people, maybe that helped too.

Police Registration

Hello,

I have one urgent query. The letter along with the PEO HSMP to TIER 1 approval says I need to register with the police! Has any other person been given such a letter.

Are Indian nationals required to do that?

ILR Period

Hi Push_hsmp, I could not quite get why the period for PR/ILR will increase from 5 to 6 or 8 years? I thought from the precedents set by HSMP JR have made the HO not make retrospective changes and avoid changing the rules of the game midway? The only thing which the Citizenship Bill proposes to do i...
