Re: Which council to pick

Thanks. I am aware. I am just thinking that those councils that have adopted to processing in hard lockdown and got their virtual ceremonies under control will continue to work normally. While my Hillingdon for example seems locked down without any prospects. I'm not too concerned even about drivin...

Re: BRP non-return within 5 (!!!) days fines

You're panicking for no reason. There is no issue with the slight delay. Not one single member on the forum has event reported being fined for delaying retraining the brp card. I've been worried sick! Their website says that in thick bold letters!! Looks scary! https://www.gov.uk/apply-citizenship-...

Re: BRP non-return within 5 (!!!) days fines

I honestly don't know how this could happen to me, I always fill everything in myself, make sure everything is spotless. I've had an invitation for the Naturalisation Ceremony from HO and there was no mention of 5 days limit. I was wondering how many days I had and was assuming that if I have not go...

BRP non-return within 5 (!!!) days fines

Hi, I've had my citizenship ceremony on 27 Jan this year. There was an ERROR (mistype of one letter) in my last name on the certificate. So I sent it back immediately. Now to the problem. I did not realise I have only 5 days to return my BRP and was going to keep it until I receive my new correct Na...

Re: British Citizenship Referees' Passport details

I had few people refusing me, so my search of professional referee goes on. All people listed below know me for more than 3 years, naturally. I was wondering if I'm just looking too hard and everything is much easier. I work as a Deputy Manager in a Charity Shop (VAT registered charity) , so could I...

Re: British Citizenship Referees' Passport details

I've got couple more questions, on the referees. 1)Would a police community support officer be classed as a referee of professional standing? 2) If i know a social worker or accountant but they are not my social workers or i don't use them as accountants and know them as friends/acquaintances, would...

Re: British Citizenship Referees' Passport details

HO don't contact referees. The professional referee can be of any nationality. Thank you very much for quick response! I was wondering if being an adult applicant i can try and ask my teacher (who is not british and doesn't live in the UK) from higher school to act as referee of professional standi...

British Citizenship Referees' Passport details

Hi I'm planning to apply for British citizenship and got stuck with referees. Referee of the professional standing in particular. I know there is a big list including opticians and funeral directors. My question is how on Earth can I find a referee of professional standing, who is going to be happy ...

Re: British Citizenship Financial Requirement

fter looking through the official guidance form I didn't find any financial or employment requirements. Correct. There aren't any. The financial requirements apply to certain applications under the Immigration Rules. They do not apply to applications made under the Nationality Acts (such as natural...

British Citizenship Financial Requirement

Hi, Last week I got my ILR as a spouse of British Citizen. I came to the UK in June 2014 and since then was away only for few days. As far as i understand I don't have to wait 12 months to apply for my Citizenship and can do so immediately. I've got a question after looking through the official guid...

Re: ILR English Test confusing question. Please help

That is an error on the online form, a questions which seems to have been copied from British Citizenship form where applicants already have ILR. Simply upload your English language evidence with your application and you should be fine INDEED it makes a lot of sense in the British Citizenship appli...

ILR English Test confusing question. Please help

Hi There is a question in the application which I found not as simple as it first looked: “Did you meet the knowledge of English requirement as part of an indefinite leave application made on or after 28 October 2013?” I don't quite understand does this question refer to the past applications or mig...
