Fiancé Visa - Can you change wedding venue?

Just need some input on the fiancé visa. It's counting down to the time when we can apply and we gather we need evidence of intent to marry. But we feel a bit rushed as we're not quite sure what our situation will be by the time the visa is granted. Was hoping to book something preliminary and chang...

is it quicker to get married and switch while in UK vs Fiancé route?

I was planning on getting my fiancé here on the fiancé visa and then getting married a short while later. We even started applying for apartments. But since we found out there's no priority service, I was wondering if it's quicker to have her come here on a visitor visa and have us get married and s...

Re: typical wait times for expedited Fiancé Visa?

Called another law firm in Manchester who were looking at their own data and calling it 4 months currently and that the times are coming down slightly. Says they were at 6-7 months previously.

Re: typical wait times for expedited Fiancé Visa?

But then someone else just told me it's taking the full 6 months but not impossible for it to take much less.

Re: typical wait times for expedited Fiancé Visa?

Ok, thanks for the info. I just spoke to someone who said it's currently anywhere from 8-24 weeks. So there is some hope. Will get a few more answers to get an aggregate.

Re: typical wait times for expedited Fiancé Visa?

I don't know what HO or SLA is but I need to adjust my question anyway to: when apply for a fiance visa outside the UK, what is the wait time and is there a priority/super priority service available??

typical wait times for expedited Fiancé Visa?

I read that it's up to 30 working days but is that how long it will definitely take, or the maximum time it could take and maybe it could be sooner?

Re: how do you calculate a visitor visa over the course of a year?

Ok, I guess that makes sense. She's from the Netherlands, not sure if that helps.

So yeah it's a bit of a grey area really in that regard. You can technically stay for the best part of a year (say 7-8 months spread out over 12), but then how do you argue that you're not residing here? Tricky.

Thanks

how do you calculate a visitor visa over the course of a year?

My girlfriend lives in the Netherlands and we're trying to figure out how long she can visit and how to ensure she doesn't over-stay. If you look anywhere and everywhere online, it just says 6 months is the duration. But how is that calculated over the course of a year? Or where/how would we find th...

Re: Bringing wife back after being away for 4 years

Thanks for the info guys. Ok so it seems like there's two routes, but which one should we take? do we have to go through ILR first before going through as spouse from scratch?

Given that it is apparently hard to reinstate ILR, should we try?

Thanks

Bringing wife back after being away for 4 years

So my US wife got her ILR when we got married in 2012, we stayed in the UK for three years, then moved to the US in 2015 and want to move back in 2020. Basically, we just want some kind of overview of what to expect to get her back in. I know post Brexit it's going to be hard and that after 2 years ...
