Re: Received Approval Letter but out of state for more than 4 weeks

From a legal perspective signing over video call should be fine as long as they watch you sign it over camera (and then you mail it back to them for signing...there is a bit more logistics involved). The lawyer just has to be ok with it and do their due diligence to verify the identity of the person...

Re: affidavit for birth certificate irish passport application

Had those 11 people also submitted a notarized affidavit with their original citizenship application? assuming they did, I can't see why you can't use an affidavit for the passport application as well Well.its not incorrect, I have shared my opinion and an up to date experience from around 11 people...

Re: First time passport application

I thought they were prioritizing applications received up to April 31st (and then the rest will get processed)? I assume they haven't cleared that backlog yet. We are hearing a lot from those who applied in Mar-April when the system was on-hold. No news from people who applied in May/June and alread...

Re: Citizenship Applications From 2020 Pending Approval

I had received those too, and so did others on these forum, and then waited over a year or so....I wouldn't take it by it's word. These responses from them over email is just routine copy and paste. The actual letters are more substantial. I got this email reply today: Please note that your applicat...

Re: First time passport application

re Garda witnessing: When getting the garda form signed you need to take your original cert and a passport with you.

A piece of info I did not come across until I went into the garda station and they told me.

Re: Citizenship delays: FOI and an application for an Order for Mandamus via the High Courts

HOW TO GO FOR A JR (Judicial Review) & force a decision on your application You are not entitled to citizenship, but you are entitled to get a decision on your application in a reasonable time. Steps in the process: 1. Make a Freedom of Information (FOI) request to the Department - You cannot file a...

Re: Affidavits for approved applications and next ceremony

I received my cert today. Came by registered mail from an an post delivery man (it also required a signature but the guy didn't take one). They used a photo I sent them that doesn't fit their criteria (I was smiling), so oh well. This is after I had received the emails and text to attend the virtual...

Re: Affidavits for approved applications and next ceremony

Prime example they just randomly copy and paste ...You already have a decision on your citizenship and they send you a text stating that you are in the process of receiving the very approval they've already sent you. My Local TD got a response from the Naturalisation office regarding the certificate...

Re: Affidavits for approved applications and next ceremony

People are posting their timelines on this forum so we can see that cases are not being dealt with in a chronological order. You can get a local TD involved in any civic matter, including immigration. How do you know flies are jumping you on the cue, How are people so quick to get their local TD inv...

Re: Citizenship delays: FOI and an application for an Order for Mandamus via the High Courts

If I understood your post correctly, you went to the Courts for a JR, the courts granted a JR in your favour, and gave the Department until the end of July to make a decision? If that's the case then the court has made a ruling and you should have a response on your application (approved or denied) ...

Re: Citizenship delays: FOI and an application for an Order for Mandamus via the High Courts

This is a standard response. Some people received this and a year later still didn't get an approval. If you want an approval you need to push a bit harder. If it was the first threat, your lawyer should now send a second threat to show you are very serious. (I would 100% have a lawyer send these th...

I'm not clear on what the first and second email's are.

Is the 1st email, the one you get right after you submit your details online to acknowledge receipt of payment; and the 2nd email is to acknowledge that the fee has been processed?

Yes for about 200 Euros you can get a lawyer to send JR warning letters to put some pressure on them.

Re: Citizenship delays: FOI and an application for an Order for Mandamus via the High Courts

They are not sending timelines with regular followups via email. The first warning letter my solicitor sent, we received a generic copy paste response - with ...

How long ago did you email them? Did anyone else make a mistake on the digital photo? In the digital version of my approval letter it clearly stated that I can submit the photo in JPEG and PNG. So I went ahead and paid and uploaded the photo in PNG (also I'm smiling in the photo). The paper version ...

I applied in the same time frame, and with my FOI there was one garda vetting document done. Some people in this forum have had a few garda vetting done (1 per year). It could very well be that they haven't done the garda vetting for you yet. Otherwise it would show. The only other possible explanat...
