Re: General discussion on CSI and Settled Status. Big issues for people on the EEA-Applications Routes

Most likely not worth the hassle. The paperwork for DCPR can be quite hefty and since your earliest date for being granted PR status is July 2020, the earliest you can apply for BC under the DCPR route would be July 2021. Permanent Residence documents will also not be valid after 1 January 2021, so...

Re: General discussion on CSI and Settled Status. Big issues for people on the EEA-Applications Routes

So theoretical you only need Settled or even pre Settled Status for 5 years and no matter if you were exercising treaty rights or not, your residence from that point is “lawful”. Now you could argue that EU Settlement Scheme only exist since 2019. Therefore someone could theoretically not exercisin...

Re: General discussion on CSI and Settled Status. Big issues for people on the EEA-Applications Routes

But would it be best to volunteer the evidence and upload it or wait for them to request it (which they might not do) . Personally, I think it would give me better peace of mind to volunteer the evidence, at least until I'd seen successful applicants relying only on the declaration. Maybe other mem...

Re: General discussion on CSI and Settled Status. Big issues for people on the EEA-Applications Routes

Hello. FYI I just attended my biometrics appointment and I want to mention than they asked me to sign a declaration form that I didn’t require CSI for the last 5 years and the reason why. Not sure if this is something they did before. I applied via the EU settled status route. I had my biometrics a...

Re: General discussion on CSI and Settled Status. Big issues for people on the EEA-Applications Routes

Oh, hang on, I missed the bit about your rejection of E104 in your Permanent Residence application. I thought that rejection was in the Naturalisation application. I guess by Permanent Residence you meant "EU Settlement Scheme"? Just to be sure, because permanent Residence, is something different t...

Re: General discussion on CSI and Settled Status. Big issues for people on the EEA-Applications Routes

Hi, jpl thanks for your message! If Home Office rejected your E104, what kind of evidence did you provide them after the rejection? How big was/were your gap/s? (No employment) Where you an student or self sufficient? Did you provide any more documentation to support your application (student or se...

Re: General discussion on CSI and Settled Status. Big issues for people on the EEA-Applications Routes

Hi everyone, Just wanted to check in to provide another data point in case someone in a similar position to myself finds it useful. I applied for naturalisation just after the new rules on Settled Status and CSI were published. While I did have CSI for the relevant parts of my qualifying period, the...

Re: General discussion on CSI and Settled Status. Big issues for people on the EEA-Applications Routes

First of all, congratulations to everyone who have gotten their citizenship applications approved! Besides lots of people just got approved who would have been refused if I would believe any kind of these articles and opinions. Again my question is from what day the new requirement starts? Did anyon...

Re: General discussion on CSI and Settled Status. Big issues for people on the EEA-Applications Routes

EEA residents who have had health insurance in their home country and whose home counties have reciprocal agreements with the UK - which is most, if not all EEA counties - can still prove, retrospectively, that they have been insured. Even if they did not have an EHIC. They can request from the rel...

Re: What documents to upload when applying for Naturalisation using Settled Status?

No, that is not correct that it is only since ILR under the settlement scheme has been granted. You have to provide evidence that you were residence for the whole 5 years immediately preceding the date of application for citizenship. It makes no difference that you had to provide evidence etc for P...

What documents to upload when applying for Naturalisation using Settled Status?

Hello, I'm about to send in my naturalisation application, and so at the moment I'm trying to gather all the documents I'll need for when UKVCAS eventually open up after lockdown. However, I'm really confused about what documents I actually need to provide as part of the application. I applied for a...
