Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Hi all, forum lurker here! My documents were received in July 2020. I wanted to ask for those who've received certificates in the UK, are they sent by royal mail? I am renting my home out this year and have a redirect in place but if Royal Mail is not the carrier then thinking I would need to provi...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

He advised I take my late July trip on my U.K. passport and have everything ready so that the second I’m back I submit my application, and that yes my original U.K. passport must be part of that, not a notarised copy. You might be better on the First Time passport chat as I have seen many other peo...

Re: Passport Application Discussion 2022

I was told via live chat today that first time applications from the UK are running 4-6 weeks behind their estimated issue date. Is this because passport applications from the UK are handled by Balbriggan as opposed to Dublin? When I posted my documents to Balbriggan at the end of May, both An Post...

What day did you send it? just to know how long did it take the whole process. Thanks
11/04/2022 was when I submitted online, but documents didn't arrive in Ireland until 26/04/2022 because I caught COVID at an inopportune time!

Re: Passport Application Discussion 2022

If resident outside of the state, certified copies of ID are accepted. But then on the citizenship category docum...

Re: Passport Application Discussion 2022

My estimated issue date was yesterday and I'm still on processing. I spoke to webchat and they've not been able to give me any further information. To update on this, my status changed to printing today. As I'm abroad, I don't have a TD, so on the 18th June (a week after my estimated issues date) I...

I paid online on 30/04 and posted the documents on 03/05 and confirmed received on 04/05. The tracker still shows documents not received. How long does it take to get this updated? I called the customer service bloody useless. They cannot confirm anything and ask me to wait. I paid online 11/04, po...

Hi, newbie to this thread - but this seems to be the best info out there for application wait times! So thank you for all your posts, which I’ve read with fascination this morning. I myself applied only last summer (Aug ‘21). At the time, the foreign births info I saw online (I thought) said that o...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

The reason an FBR application is sped-up is so that the next generation will not miss the opportunity to become Irish. If you are already Irish by naturalisation your next generation will not miss the oppertunity to become Irish so the process wont be sped-up for unborn children. They unfortunately...

Hi All, I am new to the forum. We are expecting the little one in couple of months. Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Will my marital status changing affect the process? I am unsure if I should send the documents in now as an unmarried applicant, wait until I am married, or if I need to restart the whole online application after I am married and file with the marriage documents. Any advice would be greatly appreci...
