Re: **** COVID19 Biometrics appointments and UKVCAS ***** (Discuss here ONLY)

Does anyone know how much time these appointments take these days? We have one booked soon in Gloucester, where we will need to drive (and so need to hire a car and wondering how much time is needed).

Make sure to enter your postcode with space in between and your PAN number without PEX and without any spaces, should be just 10 digits in total. I have not received any sms/email with consignment number.
Thanks for this -- I also had trouble figuring it out.

Re: General discussion on CSI and Settled Status. Big issues for people on the EEA-Applications Routes

I understand, Simon. Thank you. However I still have some hope the new published requirement won’t apply to those with pending applications. Because most in those cases wouldn’t applied and had all this effort regarding their application started by learning and the first £50 for Lituk test. I assum...

Re: CSI required for Citizenship

You need a proof of residence for the last 5 years before you make your citizenship application. If you go via the self-sufficiency route, you need to prove that you were covered with the CSI during that period. If you have periods in which you were not covered, then my understanding is that they wi...

Re: Revoking British citizen due to lack of CSI

Sure, but the HO has to work within the boundaries of the law, at least for now . And stripping people off their citizenships would be an abrupt change of policy. I would say that it would be the end of civic society as we know it. Sure, maybe it can happen some time in the future, but I do not...

Re: BC as an EU settled person: is comprehensive sickness insurance for the last 5 years necessary?

Thanks for all the responses everyone -- I got my (positive) decision this week! My error which I described earlier in this thread was not an issue in the end. There was another (surprising to me) issue however: the day before I got the decision, I was asked for proof of residence from Oct 2018 till...

Re: Revoking British citizen due to lack of CSI

I don't know the details of the law on this, but revoking someone's citizenship is an extreme measure and I would guess that it would require something extraordinary to happen and fall under some special legal treatment, such as anti-terrorist legislation. In other words, I'd not worry about it beca...

Proving residence as a PhD student

Hi all,

Does anyone know what is an acceptable form of evidence for proving residence as a PhD student? I have my offer letter from 2012 and my award letter (and certificate) from 2017. Will that suffice?

Anyway thanks for the information, hopefully someone else will take the benefit of what you wrote! The ILR question is immediately after the EEA residence questi...

Hi LoreleiB, thanks for your response. I dropped my diacritic for my EU settled application and it was not a problem at all. I would assume it will not be for the citizenship purposes either.

Re: BC as an EU settled person: is comprehensive sickness insurance for the last 5 years necessary?

By the way, Q5 in the Naturalisation section of the FAQ seems outdated. It seems to me that the most common, or perhaps the easiest, route to the naturalisation for the EU citizens is via the settled status.

Trying to get EU settlement status should be a good start, as it is relatively easy and free. After one year, you can apply for the UK citizenship.

Here is all you need to know: https://www.gov.uk/apply-citizenship-indefinite-leave-to-remain Among others: "You should also not have: spent more than 450 days outside the UK during those 5 years" They seem to make exceptions in some cases, but my understanding is that the length of stay outside of ...

No, no and no.

Any benefit to applying with partner who is in the same immigration status?

Hi all, I just filled in the online UK citizenship application. At the end of section 2., I was asked if I want to add additional applicant. One of the options is my partner. We are both in a very similar situation: we have the EU settled status and we are applying for the citizenship. Is there any ...

British Citizenship after settled status

Hi all, I am applying for the UK citizenship after having obtained the settled status more than 12 months ago. Does anyone know if I need to have a Permanent Residence Card?
