I am in a similar boat where we applied for an entry clearance visa outside UK on Feb10;

Logistically, it will be difficult to move this time as in my local area and UK most business is partially closed.

Appreciate if anyone can share any relevant info they see.

Thank you for your reply. I misread that we can apply 6 months ahead

The timing is very tight then to arrange for travel and finish all the stuff (like resignation etc)

Given that I heard the processing/decisions might take up to 3-6 months.

I put six months in advance but got an email saying I need to change to be within 3 months. Sorry a typo,

the financial requirement is just 18600, not including the children
the application fee is just for 1 person

Applying first time for U.K. spouse visa outside U.K.
As the application time is 3-6 months,
Can I keep my passport for a very short trip ( not going to U.K.)

I see VFS global has a keep your passport service for an extra fee
