Re: Naturalisation complicated situation

That is incorrect. All applicants for naturalisation must hold ILR, it is one of the requirements. Lawful residence is only assumed for the time that led to qualify for ILR, and after. Re: UKVI survey Email before decision email

Hello. Can you verify if you received a decision shortly after the survey email? I've recently received the same email and I'm wondering if it means good news is coming or if it's just an automatic thing. Thanks I believe you got your ILR last month. If so, then it should be obvious that the survey ...

Re: Naturalisation complicated situation🤕

Generally, IF you have ILR, your previous overstaying will not lead to a refusal of British Citizenship under the good character requirements. "...immigration breaches relating to lawful residence may be disregarded when assessing good character during the 10-year period prior to the application ...

Re: Long Residence - rules and guidance wording

In some absolutely astounding news, my ILR was actually granted today, at 4PM! I imagine they will now go through a process of approving everyone who applied under the temporary unclear guidance (assuming all other things are in order). Excellent :D It seems that they are exercising discretion for ...

Re: more than 180 days in 12 months for 10 years route

I agree that advice for now should be based on what the current guidance says. Just giving a head up that there is a likelihood that the guidance will be updated soon to potentially say that 548 days limit will still apply to absences prior to 11 April 2024. Hopefully, any such change, if made ...

Re: more than 180 days in 12 months for 10 years route

Thanks a ton, Zimba :). This forum and moderators like you have been amazing. My period of absence started before April 2024 and I don't have a continuous absence of more than 184 days so I should be fine. A follow-up question, I am applying for ILR in July 2024 after completing 10 years. Between ...

Re: Short by 41days for ILR

Assuming the current rules do not change by April 2025, you should apply for the ILR just before your visa expires but book biometrics for a date in May 2025. You should granted the ILR as long as your application is considered on any date that is 28 days or less before 15 May 2025.

Thank you for the reply.

My actual question is can I apply for Naturalisation just for a Child only ( <18 yrs form MN1 else over 18 yrs form AN ) and both parents are currently ‘settled’ ILR status in the UK not applying for Naturalisation?
How long has the child lived in the UK?

Re: Can Kids apply for British Passport directly

If your children have lived in the UK for more than 10 years, then you can apply to register them as British citizens at the discretion of the Home Secretary. As per Home Office's latest guidance, Caseworkers "must normally register if a child has lived in the UK for more than 10 years and: the ...

Re: ILR 10 years route - multiple visas with visa break

Hello, Hope you are doing well. :) Earlier today while we were looking at our travel dates noticed that my wife had been staying in the UK for more than 10 years now on multiple visas. She arrived in the UK on a Tier 4 student visa on the 11th of September 2011, with which she stayed in the UK ...
