Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Hi everyone - wanted to send along a final update and thank everyone for their advice. I submitted my application, and my brothers, in Feb 2020. Due to pregnancy, mine was escalated and I received my congratulations email today along with a tracking number for my certificate, which was mailed today....

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

For those of you who recently sent proof of pregnancy documentation to expedite your application, how long did it take from the day the documents arrived to FBR to when you received an email from them? Expected delivery date is mid-October so not very far away.

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Just to follow on from the above, I actually emailed the foreign birth office at the same time as posting above. I wasn't actually expecting a response but I got one this morning. I'll post this up here so you can all see, but it looks like the office is up and running, albeit at low capacity. Than...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Hi Jordan, How did you send your documents from the US to the FBR PO box in Ireland? I just tried DHL and they do not deliver to PO Boxes. The USPS form has some customs stuff I am not familiar with - any suggestions? My Dad's Irish passport was dispatched on 2/28. Does anyone know how long it usua...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

My Dad's Irish passport was dispatched on 2/28. Does anyone know how long it usually takes to get to the U.S. after that? Overall, this process was much faster than we thought. We had sent the passport app to the Irish Consulate in NYC on Jan 31st and by Feb 5th it was already in Dublin for processi...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Update: I don't know how I missed it, but the FBR office sent emails confirming they received my and my brothers' applications/documents the same day it was delivered. I did not include the application numbers on the packaging by mistake but it didn't seem to make a difference. I did not expect to g...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Do I pay the 300 Euro application free, then print out the application form with my witness' signature to send along with the rest of the documents? Or is the 300 to be paid after the documents have been sent? It just confuses me why it says I need to have collected all the documents before complet...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

I have a few questions if there is anyone who can help: 1) Has anyone gone through the FBR process before who had a similar situation re. adoption? Wondering if there was any difference or a longer wait time because of it. Luckily we were able to get a certified copy of my grandmother's Irish passp...
