Re: Irish citizen got pre-settled status, yet is considered settled in the UK by law?

Appreciate everyone’s responses and thoughts about the situation. I think we’ll just chalk it up to a mistake cause in my mind there’s an inconsistency in her status as being both settled (by citizenship) and pre-settled by their judgement. Keep in mind this is a non-issue. He is Irish, and he does...

Re: Irish citizen got pre-settled status, yet is considered settled in the UK by law?

Again it is a very strange and unique approach when it comes to Irish citizens. I consider the point you made, however, you would be surprised that kids born to Irish citizens are qualified to become the British citizen regardless of the status of the parents under the EUSS Not so much a "strange a...

Re: Irish citizen got pre-settled status, yet is considered settled in the UK by law?

Imagine an Irish person coming to UK on a work visa. Requirement states they have to live in the UK for 5 years to apply for ILR (which is also a settlement status in UK); would Irish citizens be able to apply for ILR straight away because they're Irish? Doubt that. Irish citizens don't have to "ap...

Irish citizen got pre-settled status, yet is considered settled in the UK by law?

Folks, I've tried searching for the answer to this but the forum's search feature returns hundreds of results that are not really relevant, so apologize in advance if this has been discussed before! When my Irish citizen spouse applied for EUSS back in 2019, she got pre-settled status. As an Irish c...

Re: Inform GNIB if moving to Belfast?

However, your circumstances sound complicated. I wouldn't send anything written to INIS unless you had clear and professional advice regarding what to write, and under which context. That's a good approach I suppose. Where would you suggest I look for professional advice? Are there any organization...

Re: Inform GNIB if moving to Belfast?

Thank you for your comments everyone, I appreciate the helpful analyses and suggestions. Couple of points to make: a) I'm not eligible to apply for citizenship this year because I was not physically in Ireland between 2019 and 2021. We moved to Dublin late summer 2019 - that's when I had my GNIB app...

Inform GNIB if moving to Belfast?

Hello folks - I'm a Canadian with a stamp 4 IRP on the basis of my Irish spouse. The IRP was issued in 2019 and expires this summer. Last year, we ended up moving to Belfast. Recently we flew out for a vacation (using DUB) and when I returned, I presented both my IRP and my UK residence card mention...

Re: EU settlement - Non EU family member - CoA and decision time

To follow through from my previous post, I also applied for EUSS for my baby and my mom on the same day as mine, yet they haven't received a COA. I have not escalated their cases with the MP yet, so that could be the reason.

Re: EU settlement - Non EU family member - CoA and decision time

Applied for EUSS: 6 July (spouse is Irish with pre-settled status since 2019) Biometrics: 1 August EUSS family permit expired: 10 August Called up EU resolution centre multiple ...

Thanks to the member who set up the spreadsheet and the people contributing their timelines! On the gov UK website, here's what it says for acceptable documents to show dependency. You’ll need to provide the following evidence, as appropriate, to show your dependency: evidence of your financial dependency, such as bank statements or money transfers evidence of you needing and receiving the ...

I’m not sure I understand - where did you send these documents to? I was not required to submit any documents aside from my passport. My spouse’s Irish passport and our marriage certificate has to be uploaded online. I also took them to the biometrics appointment but they didn’t need them, so I got ...

Re: EEA family permit for non eea parents.

They have the option of a standard visitor visa which costs money but could be easy to get if they’ve had it in the past. Or they could apply for an EUSS family permit on the basis of their relationship to an individual with settled/pre-settled status (you or your spouse). The permit is free, howeve...

Re: EUSS Family permit last date

If you have settled or pre-settled status and lived in the UK before 31 Dec 2020, you can apply for a EUSS family permit for your mother from Pakistan at any time . The 30 June deadline does not apply. You will need to prove your relationship existed before 31 Dec 2020 - in your case, you can prove ...

My biggest question is not the immigration advise now(however Kamoe was very nice and kind and already gave me some pieces of advise) but your opinion guys ( someone's independent view ) what potentially could happen to the application submitted after 24 th of June? or even 26 th of June? Most like...

Re: EU settlement - Non EU family member - CoA and decision time

Folks apologies for this basic question - I'm not finding the answer on the forum or the gov website. From the previous posts on this thread, many applications...

If a person already has settled status in the UK and wish to bring their dependent non-EU parent to the UK, does the June 30th 2021 deadline apply? At present there is no deadline. However this may change in the future. Or do they have more time? Yes, you could apply now or three years from now. Wou...

Re: Moving from Poland to UK family

If you don't mind long term plans, you could move to the Republic of Ireland, stay five years, naturalise as Irish and then move to the UK as an Irish citizen, provided rules don't change until then. I was wondering if the EU would stop letting Irish citizens have the advantage of moving to the UK?...

Hi Avro1959, See the COA, I have received: https://i.ibb.co/sQxx6tJ/tempsnip-120421.png hope that helps! Thank you for sharing! It looks like the COA itself doesn't confirm a non-EU citizen's right to work, rather it asks the employer to use the Employer Checking Service. Since I'd be on a EUSS Fam...
