Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Still waiting here from application December 2019 for my children. The eldest has now turned 18 so god only knows what's going to happen to that application now. :? I asked about this when I spoke to FBR last week as my daughter will turn 18 shortly, I was told that it will still be processed as a ...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Some interesting news recently. My documents for FBR were received in June 2019. I was getting increasingly concerned at not hearing anything so a couple months ago I called the FBR number and explained my concern. I was told to relax. Everything is fine and I should hear shortly. As I learned abou...

How did you apply for your first Irish passport through the Internet?
What processes are required for this?
You can renew online from anywhere in the world but for a first passport, you can only apply online from a few countries

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Friends, I have encountered a difficulty. The pregnancy team sent me an email saying that my father's birth certificate did not have the original, but when I applied for FBR, I provided the original of the birth certificate. Now tell me that there is no original of the birth certificate. Does anyon...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Congrats Hollyq, I bet it was fab to receive the Irish passport with a golden harp on it. Can't wait until that day comes for me! Seems like in most cases it's taking about 18 months. My British one ran out and that is taking 10 weeks as opposed to the usual 3 - but I can live with that. I guess all...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

I’m disappointed to hear there are still May and June 2019 folks that have not heard anything. My documents were received mid June 2019 also, so I was beginning to get very concerned. Now at least I know I’m not alone. The official 12 -18 month wait is starting to look more like 16+. I am worried t...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Sorry if this is a silly question, but is the address confirmation email obviously from the DFA? I've now gone past the 1 year point since I got confirmation of docs received in Dublin and I'm wondering (probably irrationally!) if I didn't spot it and deleted it as spam
