Re: First Adult British Passport and Covid-19

If that lets you move on then no issue - note the next section may be grandparents, against not relevant for naturalised applicants. It didn't have that, but on the next section I had to put parents country of birth and nationality etc. so they might come back to me and ask me for the name and date...

They asked for my parents name and I put it's no relevant since I am British by naturalisation. I also couldn't find any professional from the list they provide...

Re: Citizenship Ceremony cancelled due to Covid-19

Finally Ceremony done!! I had to wait 18 days for it, a week before my ceremony I sent a complaint about not having the option to do a private ceremony for safety and for speed. They sent me an email saying I can book a private ceremony for earlier date. By then, it was too late because I was gonna ...

Re: Citizenship Ceremony cancelled due to Covid-19

Majority of cases seem to be coming from university of Nottingham halls and they will be isolating. Not sure what the purpose of locking down the whole city will do. But I can’t imagine they will cancel the ceremony, any lockdown introduced it will be like manchester, Liverpool and Leicester. They ...

Re: First Adult British Passport and Covid-19

1) Advice, otherwise expect delays. 2) You need one person to confirm identity. Check the gov website for eligibility. https://www.gov.uk/confirm-identity-online-for-passport-application 3) Yes, you should also write a cover letter than you are returning your HOTD. HMPO will retain your HOTD and se...

Re: Citizenship Ceremony cancelled due to Covid-19

Yes I think we need to get the MP involved. It’s so not right to wait all the while for certificate and now for ceremony. Not to talk about passport yet! I had a brief call today, I have been booked for the 13th of October. I have sent comment to the council suggesting they bring back private cerem...

Thank you. Just quick update, my invitation letter has been sent today, dated the 1st of sep. No, we are still holding group ceremonies with restricted numbers. Has the backlog been cleared? If not, what’s the latest...
