Re: Mistakenly applied & received the Child benefit - how to redo it?

HMRC has a very powerful computer system that stores a lot of information. They can sort out the small repayment, but you will have to find the member of staff that will do that. If you phone them, follow that conversation up with a signed for letter, confirming what was said in that conversation ...

Re: Mistakenly applied & received the Child benefit - how to redo it?

Thanks again JB007. If your wife wasn't working, then Child Benefit would have given her a NI Credit towards a state pension, which she can't have either and that also needs to be sorted. Can I clarify what you meant by 'my wife wasn't working' please? Did you mean she's currently unemployed, or ...

Re: Mistakenly applied & received the Child benefit - how to redo it?

Many thanks JB007 for your advice, much appreciated. I will take your suggestion and keep everything in writing. Perhaps I have to keep calling anyway so that we can repay the money ASAP. It's just because her visa is due for renewal soon... Have to blame ourselves on reading an outdated guidance so ...

Re: Mistakenly applied & received the Child benefit - how to redo it?

Sorry, let me explain my situation in more detail. My partner, who is a holder of a PBS dependent visa, applied for child benefit last year and received the payment. However, we later realised that she may not be eligible for the benefit due to the "No Public Fund" clause in her visa. We contacted ...

Re: Mistakenly applied & received the Child benefit - how to redo it?

Sorry I am already too nervous and only scanned OP post as I was desperately looking for an answer. Yes, my partner is due to renew PBS dependent visa only, not on route to ILR.

Re: Mistakenly applied & received the Child benefit - how to redo it?

Hi all We also have the same situation where my partner got the child benefit, realised we might not be eligible to the claim, called in child benefit office about our concern, offered to pay back but was told that we are indeed eligible and rejected the request of refund. @Okay1678YT - just ...

Re: PBS Dependent Visa - Renew or Switch Visa After my husband got ILR?

Hello I might have done something wrong in the application. Now I have proceeded to the page about IHS payment. One of the questions there was about my husband's visa expiry date. He already got ILR and his BRP shows the expiry date 31 Dec 2024, so I just inputted the date there. Surprisingly the ...

Re: PBS Dependent Visa - Renew or Switch Visa After my husband got ILR?

Thanks Casa! Two more questions if you don't mind 1. How many times can I renew dependent visa before I get ILR? My current visa only lasts 1 year and 5 months (from Oct 18 to Mar 20 - the date my husband Tier 2 supposed to expire if he didn't get ILR last year). Now I am going to renew my visa ...

PBS Dependent Visa - Renew or Switch Visa After my husband got ILR?

Hello My PBS dependent visa is expiring in late Mar this year, but I wasn't sure if I should renew my current visa or have to switch to another visa type like spouse visa. Background 1. I got my dependent visa in Oct-18 while my husband held Tier 2. 2. He got ILR in May-19 3. My dependent visa is ...
