Re: Passport Card Travel

I always use my card on all trips to and from the EU/Schengen/UK, and I noticed that airline employees have become more familiar with it over time. They do occasionally ask me to show a passport, specifically Wizzair and Ryanair, and I reply that this is a passport since it has a word "passport" on ...

Re: Irish citizenship spouse refused to sign declaration form

I don't think they submitted false declaration as the first one they were living together still. The second one the spouse doesn't want to sign and so told authority that the Irish spouse refuse to sign and inform of latest change in their circumstance. So it is not false declaration as it is not s...

Re: Irish citizenship spouse refused to sign declaration form

If the marriage de-facto no longer subsist it will be a false declaration. At any time in the future your estranged husband can admit that you weren't in fact living as a husband and spouse at the time of declaration. This can result in prosecution and/or serious fine. The application form does not ...

Re: From temporary protection in Ireland to a normal visa

Temporary protection system has not been implemented for permanent immigration, it is a temporary solution and your status will eventually end, and you will be told to leave. You might want to look for an employer who will sponsor you, although that's rather unlikely.

Re: GNIB Card and Airlines

Except, This happened on the flight out of Ireland. So you’re reasoning doesn’t work. What does not work for you is not important. What works for carriers is, because it's part of their duties and responsibilities. You're not unique among millions of non-EU passenger to be subjected to visa checks....

Re: GNIB Card and Airlines

I’m a US citizen. Ryanair always “visa check” me. On a recent flight from Ireland to Spain, the gate agent flipped through my passport as if looking for something. She was looking for a UK entry-denial or deportation stamp. My brother in law works for Ryanair, and they do that as part of a routine ...

Re: Petition to Introduce more citizenship ceremonies

Anonymous petitions have little to no credibility. If you strongly believe in something and want to be taken seriously when appealing to a representative of the Government department, then you need to speak openly and use your real name. There's absolutely no reason to hide behind initials like if y...

It is a special moment, and must be celebrated. Wish I had a full official ceremony like that instead of a virtual one. Put on your best clothes, and go socialise with people from all over the world during this special event. Well done to the Government for bringing ceremonies back. The only thing i...

Re: Any need for UK passport?

You need to ask in the UK section of the forum about renewing UK passports.
In terms of travelling to the UK, there is no advantage of having a UK passport, if you have an Irish one.

Re: Spouse of Irish National - Criminal Offense

Do I therefore include that incident in the application form? Yes, it would be naive to think that the record was removed completely and make a false statement on the application. Just attach a brief explanation, if they want to check they will see that the offence took place long time ago and fine...

Re: Spouse of Irish National - Criminal Offense

I can only share my experience from years ago. As a former US citizen, I was on a de-facto permission for the first few years before getting married to my Irish husband, I had a couple of traffic offences/fines in the US when I was living there. I remember they've asked me for a police certificate w...

Re: Type C Short stay family visa for Ireland

It is a period during which she can travel to Ireland. It's not a permission to stay.
To let her in or refuse her entry, or decide how much time she will be allowed to stay will be decided by the Immigration officer.

As long as you have 1825 days of physical presence in Ireland on the date when you sign the declaration, your absences will not cause problem although you still need to declare them. But if you haven't accumulated that period of residence after deducting the absences, then I strongly recommend to wa...

I can't force her to what she doesn't want to do. She want me to pay her before she do it.
Seek counselling services, you have much bigger issues that just not being able to complete the application. This is irrelevant to this forum.

I did not ask what the letter said. You were refused a visa, therefore no visa-free entry to the USA for you.

The only way to know is to apply for a visa. You will not be able to travel under visa-free regime because you have been refused a visa in the past.

Most solicitors are still unaware of the changes. An entire passport, even blank pages must be colour copied and each copy must be certified. If you have more than one passport, same must be done with that passport as well. If you don't follow the instruction, your application may be refused as inva...
