Re: Citizenship Ceremony cancelled due to Covid-19

Other piece of information. My council received 80 certificates two weeks ago (none of which mine, I got Approved 2nd of June through email) and they told the Home Office not to send others. This is because they are doing ceremonies with max 10 people, so it would take them at max capacity 2 months ...

Re: Citizenship Ceremony cancelled due to Covid-19

I believe you are right - without invitation letter I think you cannot attend ceremony. It depends on the council if they have your certificate sime of them will do without the confirmation letter. My council does but I only received a reply to me email that my application is approved.no letter of ...

Re: Citizenship Ceremony cancelled due to Covid-19

I wanted to share a good news with all. I received an email from my local register office notifying me that private ceremonies are available M-F, cost of a £100. I think that's promessing. The only thing is my wife did not receive the document from home office yet other than a reply to my email 2 w...

Re: General discussion on CSI and Settled Status. Big issues for people on the EEA-Applications Routes

As I understand it, it is about the last 10 year history and there shouldn’t be times without CSI in case of being economically inactive, not about 5 years. Look at the quote above they asked here now to prove CSI for 2013 which is 7 years ago. This is the main thing from that article that caught m...

Re: General discussion on CSI and Settled Status. Big issues for people on the EEA-Applications Routes

It seems like they are now asking for CSI even from EU applicants with pending applications. Read this: https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/eu-nationals-uk-citizenship-home-office-latest-a9527036.html Check out this quote: "And a second, Larissa, protested: “This has just happened to me....

Re: General discussion on CSI and Settled Status. Big issues for people on the EEA-Applications Routes

Because there has been no change in the law (indeed, it is a return to the status quo ante as regards the interpretation about the status of EEA citizens and family members without CSI), it is quite likely that the CSI requirement will apply to applications already submitted but not decided. I have...

I also contacted Michel Barnier's team to make them aware of the issue. Email is uktf-contact@ec.europa.eu . If more people do maybe it will increase the chances it will be taken forward by them.

Re: CSI and settle status. Big issues for everybody

I made a small experiment to check whether there has been any change. I submitted my own application in March so I can notice any differences. I inserted some random details which are still valid until I got to the document checklist part of the application. There I was told that I would need to pr...

Re: CSI and settle status. Big issues for everybody

Wow, that's insane. It's not even the 5 years for citizenship, it's the 5 years for settled status. Seems the only way will be when you've been here for 10 years without a gap in employment then.

Re: General Discussion During Naturalisation Application Process

The lack of official information is really frustrationg, considering, that the informationg they are giving people over the phone are contradictory. As you can see on the forum, no one has gotten a letter in over a week, and if they are working as usual, someone should get a letter. And if they sto...

Re: General Discussion During Naturalisation Application Process

I called the HO today and I have been told that they have stopped processing all the naturalization applications at the moment (mine was submitted about 2 months ago). The priority will be for Visa applications. So it look like that there will be a significant delay for all naturalization apllicati...

Re: General Discussion During Naturalisation Application Process

I applied with EU settled status back in September and I am still waiting. Is your application delayed too? I wouldn't say delayed yet ...
