Re: Dropping middle name before naturalization

just to clarify - I also hold an additional passport which has no middle name and which I never used for anything including applying for UK visas, but always declared its existence of course... Wherein lies the dilemma - as I understand when I apply for my first BP I will actually need to send this ...

Re: Dropping middle name before naturalization

On my current non-british passport I have the middle name. Hence the middle name on the ILR BRP.

Dropping middle name before naturalization

My ILR BRP currently has a middle name. One of my foreign passports does have the middle name and the other one doesn't. My plan right before applying for naturalisation as British citizen is to drop the middle name from my foreign passport and apply without changing the BRP, in the hope that they w...

A long shot but if someone is looking for an appointment now, could you please post the info about availability around London (eg also Swindon, Reading...honestly even Birmingham)? Thanks a lot!

Thank you. But its already posted on Page 74. 🤪 You are clearly on the ball :D Thanks for your help!...

Re: A weird change of name question

Once a certificate of naturalisation is issued to you, you cannot change the name on it in the future. Thanks for your answer. So can I just change name via deed poll and apply for passport with a new name? Or change passport prior to naturalisation (so it only has Broom as a name) and apply for na...

A weird change of name question

I have recently received an ILR and plan to apply for naturalisation in the future. I have a very weird name situation on my BRP ever since I entered UK. Prior to immigrating I changed my first and middle name (Room Broom) to just my middle name (Broom) for convenience, since this was what I mostly ...

Re: **** COVID19 and UKVCAS Biometrics Appointments **** (ONLY discuss here)

@elorium @cullinan I have followed this topic out of personal interest so I suppose my conclusions might be helpful. I would say that I can see the following pattern for Set(O) applicants - we now have a few cases of people who applied in August, went for appointments instead of using the app (never...

Re: **** COVID19 and UKVCAS Biometrics Appointments **** (ONLY discuss here)

Hi all, Anyone else applied in April and submitted documents/biometrics via IDV app and still waiting for the decision? I applied on the 1st of April :( 1st Apr as well. However my type is FLR. I submitted IDV pic on 21st Aug and went for an in-person one as well on 11th Sep. I did all I could do a...

So when is the picture on the right to work site supposed to change? After approval or straight after in person BRP appointment? I had an an in person appointment today but it is still the same picture on the right to work site :D I am starting to suspect the UKVCAS person didn’t submit my documents...

Re: **** COVID19 and UKVCAS Biometrics Appointments **** (ONLY discuss here)

Post by ravi2326 » Sun Sep 06, 2020 2:15 am I can see many posts where people are invited to reuse biometrics through UKVCAS IDV app, but they have rather decided to book an appointment and opted out to reuse the biometrics. I dont understand what could be the reasons. Anything that I am missing? S...

I also receive an invitation to use the app after applying on 3/08. It is a standard email, I will be able to book appointment once invited to use the app which should happen before 14/09. This seems to be the way it works now, which makes sense. By the way I don’t think any free in person appointme...

Re: **** COVID19 and UKVCAS Biometrics Appointments **** (ONLY discuss here)

This could not get more frustrating...we a family of 3 applied for ILR (LR) on the 10th and 11th May respectively. The one on 11th got an IDV app usage invite yesterday...but not the ones on 10th May! Called up UKVCAS IDV helpline and they are clueless...they say its UKVI who decides who should be ...

Re: **** COVID19 and UKVCAS Biometrics Appointments **** (ONLY discuss here)

Why did your family apply separately? We are in a similar situation - applied separately because both me and my partner hold tier 2 visa, and he had now received biometrics appointment (With our child) while I am still waiting I assume for the app. I am just wondering if that was correct or whether ...

Re: **** COVID19 and UKVCAS Biometrics Appointments **** (ONLY discuss here)

Both had biometrics taken three years ago, so I guess children are not eligible for reuse for this period. I have applied separately from them and s...

ILR for a child born abroad - please help!

Me, my husband and my child just submitted SET(O) ILR applications. We both had Tier 2 visas. My husband and my child submitted their application (adult+dependant) separately from me (same as we did with Tier 2). I suddenly became worried that we were supposed to submit as one family unit in order f...

Re: Public funds question on ILR application

Thank you.

Is there perhaps some other way I should use to contact UKVI prior to receiving this email?

I have an additional question - do they normally request to send physical documents in or to bring physical documents to the biometric appointment?
