Re: First time passport application

I got connected to the web chat today just to ask them if they still stick on the 40 business days for first time applications. The person simply told me they have a backlog and can't even give me a number :) Basically 40 business days may actually be longer cos they still seem to struggle with lots...

Hi everyone, My wife applied for citizenship in March 2020 and got her papers back probably by May 2020. Since then its complete silence. Normally people get a second stage letter and not even that for her. It's been more than 1 year for her and no movement at all. Would you guys suggest me to go f...

Re: First time passport application

Hi, can anyone advise if a stamp is required from a witness for online application Identity Verification Form? There seems to be no box for a stamp. I just find it unusual as paper application requires a stamp. Thanks I just went to Garda station today and he only filled out the parts he needed. Si...

Re: First time passport application

Hi there,

No, I didn’t get any of my bills stamped. As they had my name and supported and confirmed my address, I just enclosed three different ones with my documentation. Hope that helps?
[/quote]

Thanks for your answer. I probably will send 3 different ones too when I apply for it.

Re: First time passport application

Hi everyone,

I was looking at the additional documents for the first time application and it states "We accept internet printouts that are stamped by issuing authority". Does that mean I need to get my e-bills to get stamped in the office of that provider?

I got the same email today with the subject line "Immigration Online - Update on Citizenship Certificate Fee"

A Citizenship Certificate Fee was processed on 12/05/2021. You will receive a letter from this office in due course regarding the final stage of your Citizenship application.

Re: Citizenship Applications From 2020 Pending Approval

My wife applied on March 2020 and we haven't heard anything since then. I mean no second stage letter. She is an EU citizen and a frontline healthcare worker. So I believe there is no priority for anyone. Just have to be lucky and a straight forward case will increase the chances.

Re: Naturalisation - how are years calcuated?

I'm not asking WHAT can be used for proof of address, that information is already detailed in the form. I'm asking HOW are the years of residence calculated. If you are a non-EU citizen you need to submit the residency calculator. It will be based on your stamps in your passport and once you submit...

Re: Naturalisation - how are years calcuated?

Looking at the PDF form CTZ3 and it says you need to have 3 proofs of address for each year of residency claimed. If you arrived in say June of 2019, can you claim 2019 as year 1, then 2020 as year 2 etc? Or is a year calculated like this: June 2019 through to June 2020 (Year 1). June 2020 through ...

Re: Affidavits for approved applications and next ceremony

Is this virtual ceremony essential? No. You are an Irish citizen from the day you got your naturalisation certificate. The virtual ceremony is purely for ceremonial purposes and has no legal effect. (In contrast, a live ceremony pre-pandemic is legally binding and applicants must attend it to be re...
