Re: Upcoming Ceremony in 2023

Does anybody know if it's allowed to go with a newborn (1 month old)? The invitation says to not bring children. My wife is my adult guest, so we don't have any other option to bring our newborn. Anyone has heard if that's allowed?

Re: Applying naturalisation being British; confused

What happens with the 6 weeks rule? Does it apply to British citizens? It applies to everyone who wants to be naturalized, yes. In the form, that's only enclosed under "2. If you are a non‐EU citizen making a standard application based on having 5 years residence:". Sorry we misread. We look at the...

Applying naturalisation being British; confused

Hi all, I have a friend who wants to apply for naturalisation. He has been in the country for more than 5 years. He is British and, given that the UK is out of the EU, we find it hard to understand what the actual requisites are as the form says "this does not apply to EU/EEA citizens" (UK is a form...

Re: RIP Oath of Fidelity Affidavit Process

This way they don't need to find an excuse why the current arcaic process takes so long. They just added at most 6 months while, at the same time, they expect to bring the whole process down to 6-9 months. Same will happen to the passport processing time, they are creating a huge bottleneck to an al...

Spouse Visa - Moving to the UK

My wife (British citizen) and me (non-EU) were looking at the spouse visa. We have been living together for 5 years in Ireland and we got married a year ago. Would it be possible to apply for the spouse visa from both outside the UK (without my wife going back to the UK)? Would it be enough to meet ...

Re: Certified colour copy of passport

Not to mention that original passport on it's own will give you 150 points right away according to the table on the page 18 of the form for adults. I think full color stamped copy will give you 150 as well since they don't have a separate table for this? They better be as I just certified them :twi...

Re: Score card, address matching and bank accounts.

I think he is referring to having the address in old P60s; mine doesn't have it either. I had the same query but never found anything related to it. For example, the Employment Details Summary now has the address on it.

Re: Certified colour copy of passport

Yes, at this point it could be problematic to send the original passport as it seems they don't want to deal with all the administrative task of sending it back (what if it get lost or something, getting emergency queries to return it in a pandemia, etc), they probably want to get rid of that respon...

Re: Certified colour copy of passport

That’s the new requirement. Proper madness to be honest. I guess it depends on the prospective. Some people may be willing to pay that amount of money to have their passports by their side at all times; others would prefer to just send their passports away for a few months: Most solicitors have not...

At least for me this point system makes things more difficult. Lots of documents I used as proof of residency is not in this list (internet bills, letters related to my Stamp 1 and 4...). I don't have a car, credit card, gas supplier, medical insurance, never been to a doctor here... They still poi...
