Indeed the 3-month rule isn’t specified on their website. COVID lockdown only started 10 months ago, so you left Ireland 8 months before COVID started. Using COVID as an excuse won't stand at all. I forgot to mention that while away from Ireland, I will still be employed in state, on Irish payroll and working from home. But reading through replies it looks like it wont make a difference.
