Re: Citizenship by Association - Certificate

Thanks for all your responses. I feel better now that nobody said their certificate mentions Irish associations, i was worried there had been a mistake. Best of luck to everyone still waiting on a decision. It has been a journey of just under 4 years for myself, checking this forum most days - such ...

No its just a normal natuarlisation certificate. To cover yourself keep the letter where they said your application would be processed under associations.

Citizenship by Association - Certificate

Hi, I applied for citizenship based on Irish association. My application was successful and today I received my certificate. However, nowhere on the certificate does it state naturalisation was based on Irish association, is this correct? In the future, how would anyone know my citizenship was based...

Re: Citizenship by descent/association

Hi, I applied via irish association after 3 years, but with a different association. I thought the same as you, "sure, I'll just try now and if they say no I'll re-apply after 5 years residency". However, my experience was that they didn't look at my application until another 2 years had passed (bri...

Re: Citizenship applications from 2018 pending approval

I'm the same, waiting since early 2018. I also had hope after the media reports of the dept planning to contact everyone waiting 2years.... I've done FOI and it showed no reason for the delay... very frustrating. More than 10% of my life has been spent waiting for the department to make a decision o...

Re: Citizenship delays: FOI and an application for an Order for Mandamus via the High Courts

Is anybody else still waiting an exceptionally long time for a decision? Things have quitened down here, so I gather a lot of the long waiters have received theirs. A few months ago when the media reported the department had committed to reaching decisions for all applicants waiting 2 years by the o...

Re: Irish Citizenship based on Irish children

Hi, short answer, Yes. I applied after 3 residency on the basis of having 2 Irish children born in Ireland. However! It has been 2.5 years since I applied and I have only just heard from the department. If you read forums about applying after 3 years based on Irish association, you will commonly rea...
