Re: Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI)

Anyone has any idea of "actual" processing time for OCI (London)?
They quoted 6-8 weeks, but going by past timelines in this thread, it has generally take 4 weeks end-to-end.

Hi,

Are only London VFS centres open now? I am looking for a date in Manchester and seems like they are closed. Anyone else looking for OCI appt in Manchester?

Thanks
Yes, London is now open. Appointments resumed from 1st March.

Re: Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI)

Does anyone know if Royal mail pre-paid self-printed labels will be accepted with OCI application at VFS Hounslow? The Royal mail website shows that the printed label is valid for 7 working days, but I guess the OCI application processing will take more than 7 working days, so eventually when HCI/VF...

Re: Citizenship Ceremony cancelled due to Covid-19

Update from Redbridge council they will be conducting cermonies via Microsoft Team. But they said they have only receive certificates till July. I concur. That is the same response I received. If it is true then Redbridge is really behind other councils as they seem to have only started to receive ...

Re: **** COVID19 Biometrics appointments and UKVCAS ***** (Discuss here ONLY)

Fell like regretting now by not opting out. What a joke seriously!! You never know, you may get moved on to the 'next stage' even before most of the appoints (over next 2 weeks) secured by those who opted-out. I do not have any trust on the processing timelines even after the appoint/biometrics is ...

IF I CANCEL my appointment and rebook to another date, will UKVCAS charge the fees the second time??? Given the situation, I would advise you to stay put with what you got now. Yeah.. in the hurry, I did not check in Croydon carefully, almost scanned through rest of the London ones. I totally misse...

Re: **** COVID19 and UKVCAS Biometrics Appointments **** (ONLY discuss here)

My honest thought is that they will open up booking today. The reason for them saying to expect the email this week is that for some reason their mail servers seem to be very slow and appears to send out emails over several days. I also think that if it was not today, 5pm seems to be an odd deadlin...

Re: **** COVID19 Biometrics appointments and UKVCAS ***** (Discuss here ONLY)

Anyone got any communication from UKVCAS? (Today is 10th so I was expecting something to be in my inbox when I wake up) It will probably be after 1700, these guy's are playing games. They will probably wait until the final group's deadline of today opt-out passes. It's like playing with our minds, ...

Re: **** COVID19 and UKVCAS Biometrics Appointments **** (ONLY discuss here)

Believe people seem to want to be opting out as there is an indication that it might be a 'faster process', based on the email we received. However, if literally everyone 'opts out' then surely it cancels it out - as getting an appointment will be next to impossible. Doesn't look many will opt-out ...

Re: **** COVID19 Biometrics appointments and UKVCAS ***** (Discuss here ONLY)

Spoke with CIH team, and after much probing (still they did not sound very confident), they mentioned that App may not be released before 31st Aug at least . I am unsure this is any formal info, so you may wanna check with CIH team yourself. Last few times I called them they never mentioned any info...

Checked yesterday for London and nothing available till Oct so I am still deciding shall I opt out or in 🧐
Thanks. I just opted-out. Hoping that April applicants will have some sort of priority over the later applicants for the new slots released by UKVCAS.

So today is the cut-off date for this mysterious opt-out. Apart from doing a toss with a coin, any other reasonable basis to choose one over the other? NOT OPTING OUT -> Pro: Possibly save some money (or, could it be chargeable too?), Save one trip to the centre. Cons: Further/uncertain delays OPTI...

Re: **** COVID19 Biometrics appointments and UKVCAS ***** (Discuss here ONLY)

For those that applied in July and eligible for a UKVCAS appointment, have you been able to find any free appointments in August, and if so, where? The earliest I could find was 1st September. There were several appointments in August but all charged at £110 or £135 Which location is available in A...
