Re: Moving Abroad After Obtaining UK Passport

If you had refugee status before British citizenship, will you be returning to and settling in the same country that you were a refugee from? Hello - I would not even dare to go to my home country even for a short visit, as that would not be safe for me, even if I go there with a British Passport. ...

Re: Return of passport

I know a couple refugees who applied for BP last month/this month and got BP in 2/3 weeks. You will not have any issues but every case is dealt with individually, for how long it takes. HMPO Belfast is the slowest in my experience. Many thanks Cullinan, I was really worried as I thought that the Tr...

Re: Return of passport

Hi Everyone, This post was really helpful. I have actually applied for my first Adult British passport and sent my current Home Office Travel Document, with a letter explaining that my Home country passport expired in 2014 and is currently with the Home Office. Was this the wrong procedure to do? I...

Re: Return of passport

Procedure was correct I understand HMPO retains the Travel Document - can't say what happens with your original passport. See this document: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/118570/home-office-travel-documents.pdf Many thanks for the qu...

He will confirm your identity - not really a referee as in naturalisation.
Many thanks - That's what I assumed, just wanted to make sure before I ask the person to do it.

I Really appreciate your help :)

Re: Passport referee - What Info Do I need?

Many Thanks @Cullinan! I really appreciate your response. And Yes, I am referring to the person who will confirm my identity. Do you know what kind of information my referee should expect to be asked for? I assume it's basically to confirm that they know me for 2+ years, and that I am who I present ...

As far as I understand from the Guidance notes, the only required documents are my current passport (and any cancelled ones) In addition to my Citizenship Certificate? Do we apply online and th...

Re: Citizenship Ceremony cancelled due to Covid-19

Good Morning Everyone, Were anyone able to book a Private Ceremony recently with Westminster Council? Their website says they will continue to do Private Ceremonies, but when I try to book it takes me a page which says ceremonies are not available and that I need to call them. I called many times bu...

Re: **** COVID19 Biometrics appointments and UKVCAS ***** (Discuss here ONLY)

Hi Guys, I hope you are all doing well. I used the IDV App to submit my info, and I had a couple of small issues: - Even though I was in a well lit room, I still had a bit of shadow on one side of my face. But I guess unless I'm using a professional camera (Instead of taking a selfie using my phone)...

Travelling Abroad - Time Limit?

Hi Everyone, I hope you are all staying safe. I know this has been asked so many times and that it is ok to travel abroad whilst a citizenship application is pending. My Question is, is there a time limit of how long we can stay outside the UK while the citizenship application is still pending? Due ...
