Re: Flying to the UK without a British passport via Ireland

Out of curiosity, what issues can cause if an EU/British dual citizen enters the UK using their EU passport? As EU/EEA/Swiss citizens can still visit the UK without a visa and stay for a short period of time, they most probably wouldn't be asked about the reason for entering the country (especially ...

Re: What exactly is classed as a 'Permanent residence document'?

You should be fine either way to be fair, just make sure you upload your settled status outcome latter as one of the supporting documents. You will also need to fill in all previous immigration applications, so they will know that you have applied for the settled status from this section as well. If...

Re: What exactly is classed as a 'Permanent residence document'?

That may work as well. Do you have to provide additional information of your status if you answer Yes to the 2nd question?

In any case, it's worth uploading the settled status outcome letter as well as part of the supporting documents.

Re: What exactly is classed as a 'Permanent residence document'?

While that might be the correct answer from a legal point of view, in the current version of the online application form you are able to select that you wish to use "ILR granted under the EU Settlement Scheme" only if your answer is Yes to this question.

Re: What exactly is classed as a 'Permanent residence document'?

ILR granted under the EU Settlement Scheme is also considered a permanent residence document, even if you don't get a physical document. So the answer should be Yes, after which there will be a question like "What will you use to apply for British citizenship?" for which you can select "Indefinite l...

Re: Nearly 5 months since British citienship application

Hi, I applied for British citizenship as an EU citizen on the 14th of December 2020. Its nearly been 5 months since my application and I have heard nothing back about an approval from the home office. When do you usually get an email from the home office stating that your application will not be co...

Lockdown until March 31: Small print in legislation shows shut down set to last MONTHS - print news. Re: Going back to the UK

I would suggest that you only apply for naturalisation as a British citizen after a substantial period (at least 3-4 continuous years) of residing in the UK in future. It's unlikely he will be able to apply in less than 5 years time, as after 3 or 4 years he will still fail to meet the requirement ...

Re: Urgent: email from UKVCAS regarding CSI 2 hours before appointment

My appointment is a bit further away (and therefore didn't get this email yet), but I also got the CSI document requirement as part of the mandatory documents list. My situation is very similar to OP's, applying with EU settled status and have been employed continuously. Maybe it's the EEA status wh...

Re: Clarification needed on few questions

Ah I see, thank you. So they're now dealing with the backlog of applications, that's fair. Hope I'll be in the next batch! Re writing down my flights. Sometimes I'd fly with a transfer (e.g. going to Poland but mid-landing in Paris for 2h), should I just say Poland then in the list or do I need to ...

Re: Advice on filling form AN for naturalisation

Hi guys, This forum has been incredibly useful, but I have two questions I couldn't really answer: I have been working for the same company for more than 10 years, first in my home country and later here in the UK after I applied for an internal transfer. However, after arriving in the UK I was empl...
