Filling in section 3 for non-working spouse

Hi We're getting ready to submit our naturalisation application using form AN. I have a question about how to complete section 3 on my wife's form. As a stay-at-home mother, she has never worked at all in the UK, hence she has no NI number and has never paid any tax. I'm unsure as to how to complete...

here's a thought... Assuming you have a job at the time, do you think it might be possible to switch from Tier 1 down to Tier 2 at the time of renewal, assuming you no longer meet the eligibility requirements for Tier 1? I mean, all speculation here, right? But would they REALLY expect employers to...

hey robdylan Yes there fees are really high! The cheapest I located was Fastukpermit for about £490 but i am not sure if they post it for you. You could call them, they are in Bayswater I personally would not go with firstcontact because they don't have solicitors or JPs in the firm, just people w...

you can look at TNT magazine, they have a whole list of agencies there. I think all agencies win cases and lose cases so its difficult to pick the best one. Just make sure they have a no win no fee policy, are reputable, registered, and have a high success rate. Personally, if i were South African ...

well - the story I have just had from an agent (who spent the better part of two hours on the phone to BIA today) is that there is NO upper or lower limit on time out of the country and that EVERYTHING is completely at the Case Worker's discretion. Frightening thought that, innit? Wish me luck... I ...

Look up the Immigration Directorate Instructions (IDIs) to caseworkers on UKBA's website. There is scope for discretion and the IDIs lists how and when they can be applied. can't seem to find that. Anyone got a link? Ok, but the general feeling I get is that if you go in there with 300 days, they'r...

I would suggest go ahead with any good agency who give you gurantee, normally gurantee is based on documents which you provide them and their knowledge as immigration lawyers. Make sure get a money back gurantee certificate ;) Good luck. Anyone have any ideas about what consitutes a fair "fee"... I...

Don't get carried away with the notion that (good) agencies can *ensure* success! Even if we assume that it is possible, then why can't you (ensure your own success) - after all, it is your application and your documents / evidences!! Tier 1 isn't rocket science! And who certifies an agency as "goo...

Good Agencies

I've had it up to here with my Work Permit and am now resolved to get onto Tier 1 ASAP. I score around 85 or so, so it shouldn't be complicated, but I want to use a good agency to ensure success.

Can anyone recommend anyone?

Rob you are 100% right! IN the begining he paid his taxes, after terminaiton he is not able to pay, he worked cash in hand. HMRC are always willing to listen if you call them up and tell them you'd like to give them money. Pathetic excuse. Why was he doing illegal work in the first place? In fact, ...

I just recently had to contact HMRC to let them know that I'm not paying enough tax and I would like to pay more. Good to know that my money will be put to work helping those too lazy to pay their share ;)

not to be too judgemental, but it's guys like your friend who make it so much more difficult for the rest of us, who are determined to play by the rules, however unclear and hard-to-follow they may be.

ILR - is the 225 day limit absolute?

Lots of questions from me, guys. I gather that when applying for ILR (this is still 3.5 years off for me) you will be required to present a tally of all the days you have spent outside the UK and justify those absences. I have heard that there's a magic number of 225 days (45 per annum) and that you...

Markie, this is not true. robdylan, I would say it depends. If your employer had to advertise the post (ie not a shortage occupation) and you have had a large increase, they should consider doing a change of employment application. The reason for this is that they got no suitable applicants with th...
