I just found out they are allocating specific appoinment quotas for different types of visas. I was wondering what if I lie to the homeoffice that I am going for a 5 year permit/student visas (for which they have appoinemtns available) and act innocent? Will I get into trouble? If they refuse to see...

Yeah - I told them I am flexible to go anywere but unfortuantely all were booked. They won't even tellme when the next slot will be available. I believe its 6 we...

Sounds like you need to educate your employers about hsmp. Not every employers are aware of HSMP and is a common misconception of the differences between hsmp/workpermit.

what do you mean gap - do you mean you did not apply for extension on time?

If so in my opinion, the gap seems too long to qualify for residency. Although this can be granted based on the discretion of the caseworker if you have a valid argument (eg, compassionate circumstances).

Re: You CAN get ILR

I don't think that the last statement is quite true. I thought that either the 14 or 10 year long residence rules for ILR were still applied using a caseworker's discretion. not sure about the 14 years one. but 10 years is not down to discretion of the caseworker. It is part of the rule - as long y...
