Re: Citizenship Ceremony cancelled due to Covid-19

@Cullinan or @CR001 - are either of you able to shed any light on this, please ? I wonder if you could help, please ? I was approved for British Citizenship on 28 November 2021. I was then given three different deadlines by which to attend a ceremony 15 Feb (according to the council) ; 28 Feb (3 mon...

I wonder if you could help, please ? I was approved for British Citizenship on 28 November 2021. I was then given three different deadlines by which to attend a ceremony 15 Feb (according to the council) ; 28 Feb (3 months after the email) or 6 months as specified on the government website as of 28 ...

Re: Naturalisation an passport process quesries

Hi Cullinan, Following your help (thank you very much indeed) we submitted the naturalisation form around 3 weeks ago and we now have the biometrics appointment at the end of next week. We have already uploaded all of our own documents and did NOT buy that service. With that in mind, what should we ...

Re: Naturalisation an passport process quesries

Yes, that makes sense. Thank you. One last question for now, in terms of the passport photo, does it need to be an actual physical passport photo (from a booth or professionally taken) or will an electronic photo that meets the size and quality requirements be sufficient (that can be electronically ...

Re: Naturalisation an passport process quesries

Thanks again.

Presumably then if there is ambiguity, not to mention the time lost in posting documents from overseas and the risk of them being lost, the strong advice would be to come up with two British referees ?

Is that a fair assumption ?

Re: Naturalisation an passport process quesries

Thank you, Cullinan.

And for the avoidance of doubt, where the referee is overseas ... is it necessary to get a wet ink signature eg I have to post it to him and he has to post it back ? Or can he download it, sign it and scan a copy back to me ?

Re: Naturalisation an passport process quesries

Hi Cullinan / CR001, Please could you answer a couple of questions regarding REFEREES for the naturalisation process ? I have found the following guidance, included in the online form : Referees must: • not be a relative, solicitor or agent of the applicant • not be related to the other referee • no...

Re: Naturalisation an passport process quesries

CR001 and Cullinan thank you very much indeed for your input. Apologies that I originally posted my questions on the wrong board. I will read through the various links and come back to you if I have further questions. Thanks again.

Naturalisation an passport process quesries

@ Cullinan I hope you don’t mind but we have followed you here from the corresponding ILR SET(M) board. We received our SET(M) ILR yesterday. Thank you again for your help with ILR guidance. I think you are a couple of months ahead of us in this process and thought that after the excellent advice yo...

Re: **** COVID19 and UKVCAS Biometrics Appointments **** (ONLY discuss here)

This is all a complete joke!! Behind every single application there is a life and a story. Why do we have to wait for 6 months like this and not being able to travel or even make any changes in our life as our BRP has expired. It is definitely a form of discrimination. We pay £2400+ for an applicat...

Re: **** COVID19 and UKVCAS Biometrics Appointments **** (ONLY discuss here)

Thank you very much for your swift response. We will hold off writing to UKVI. Based on what you are seeing, do you have any idea what sort of timescales we might be looking at for ILR SET M ? @Ameline and @Ajitu92 are best placed to answer this. I have a whole dataset from this forum since the sta...

Re: **** COVID19 and UKVCAS Biometrics Appointments **** (ONLY discuss here)

ILR SET M questions We registered / paid with UKVCAS in the second week of September 2020. We then received the invitation to use the IDV app on 17 September and submitted via the IDV app on 18 September. My current visa expires in less than 3 weeks. We have received no confirmation that UKVI have r...
